Triborg looks awesome. Leatherface...yawn, just another big, slow character. Xenomorph is cool, but I don't see the point. I can see how Jason and Freddy fit with Mortal Kombat. Alien is just so random. It just doesn't fit. Bo Rai Cho is awful. Do we really need a character whose special moves are throwing up and farting on people? Its like Ed Boon channeled his inner 12 year old.

Per usual, it's the gamers fault. Had they of spent more money on Skarlet, Kenshi and Rain and less money on Freddy, we might not of recieved so many guest characters. Same goes for Injustice and Scorpion.

Although I don't really care, save for leather face, iv liked the guest characters. And it's possible I could like the way leather face plays, I just don't like the character overall.

I just don't think they have the talent in their studio to do it properly. MK, Injustice and now MKX all suffer from the same issues.

agreed, they need to get the killer instinct team to teach them how to do a proper netkode, even with bad netkode each game they release keeps on selling more and more so they probably arent too motivated to improve it and spend money, but eventually people will get fed up with the crappy netkode, no fun buying a game thats not playable online

Yea it's either that or they're just more focused on the tourney scene.

The only guest character that fits with Mortal Kombat is Kratos. The rest don't fit in. So they might as well add the Xenomorph, especially after adding predator.

Shao Kahn is a majestic boss character that should never be playable. His is the Darksied of Mortal Kombat.

I'm not a fan of having boss characters being playable. To me, part of what makes them so imposing is that we can't "tame" them. We can only fight them after defeating the strongest warriors.

Having them playable kinda ruins the magic for me.

They all fit. Its Mortal Kombat for f**ks sake. You've got realms of various monsters and creatures. Ya got lizard people and 4 armed tiger men to go along with dead ninjas and wizards.

I mean he's violent. So? What pat said is right. When you have 4 armed Tiger men fighting half horse half monster human guys vs dead ninjas and magic using super souls.. Bringing in characters from other worlds is fine...

Yeah, I mean I thought Freddy being in MK9 was cool, but now it seems to turned out to be the ultimate gateway drug as now we have four guests in MKX and the more we get, the more I see people requesting more non MK characters like Spawn, Ash, Michael Myers, Robocop, the Terminator, Pinhead, Sweet Tooth and on it goes on. People were also asking for Freddy back just so they could do Freddy vs Jason just like they were asking for Alien after Predator was revealed.

I think maybe it's time some of you guys just get over the guest characters thing. This has been brought so many times already, I'm not sure what else there is to say about it. The best thing you can do about it is just not buy these guest characters and not support the practice.

I dont know the logistics of implementing a new online system, but considering boon said in his tweet this good news is for MKX, im going to assume they have some way of doing it! I hope at least! better online would be the best thing they could do for this game, way better than more characters, which would probably just be guests anyway lol

You nailed it Sparta, a new online experience is coming to MKX similar to GGPO. A beta will start soon.

The closed public beta will help NetherRealm Studios "move away from the dynamic input latency model" toward one it says will more accurately preserve "the feel of an offline game" during online play.

The new model is similar to GGPO, which is described as a "rollback, simulate forward model." According to the announcement, it'll create a "smoother experience" and lessen "the feel of lag during online play

NetherRealm Studios has revealed Mortal Kombat XL, a complete version of MKX that includes the main game and all of its post-launch content.

This content-rich rerelease will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 1 in North America and March 4 in Europe. Check out the announcement trailer below.

In addition to the core Mortal Kombat X experience, all of the previously released downloadable content from the original Kombat Pack, as well as the upcoming Kombat Pack 2 will be included.
