Mortal Kombat

I'll give it maybe a 50/50 chance.

Honestly, the first one wasn't that bad. It wasn't that good, but compared to other video game movies, it was one of the better ones.

Just the fact that the first mortal kombat captured the spirit of the game so well, made it great. Who cares if it wasn't friggin casablanca. If you expected a movie called Mortal Kombat based on a video game to be a classic work of cinema, you are a complete idiot. Good day to you, sir.

that said, the sequel was truly atrocious.

But I'd still like to see MK3 with the original movie cast, baby.

I'd like to see a new MK movie made by somewhat creative people. Imagine the kinds of insane fights they are able to put on film nowadays :wow:

I really wanted this to stick to the original plan: be a direct sequel to the first, and negate the second.

The first MK film rocked. How hard is it to convert that simple story into a film! There was no way they could have messed up the first one, the story of the game was simplistic. The second was a cluster **** and way too cheesy. As much as I want a third film to be made, and in the vein of the first. I don't see it happening. It has been in talks for the last 4-6yrs. That sounds to me like it's never going to get off the ground.

Man, I got jipped by Walmart. I was there today and found a double feature with both MK 1 and 2. The second is crap but I've been looking for the first one so I brought it. However...not only are the two movies on one disc, it isn't even a double sided one. And it's in freaken fullscreen.:cmad:

Forgive my rant.:yay:

I like both movies.

I wish they would make a third.

Damn wallmart

Why did the robots in the second one look like poorly coordinated stuntmen with plastic paneling?

The first MK movie was great... 2nd was mediocre but a 3rd with the right cast could work

I think I'll watch MK tonight just because this thread reminded me of it

I liked the first one so there is no reason to reboot. I think a third movie would do great if they have a good director a bigger budget and some known actors. the first one was cool but looked cheap!

the first was perfect, in my opinion.
just couldn't be better, and the actors' charisma, the performances and the fights were what helped the most.
but the second was a crap.
if they do a third, I don't think it should be a reboot. there's no way it could be better than the first, imo.

The first one was great. The 2nd movie was simply an atrocity.

Anyway, Donnie Yen for Kung Lao.

Donnie Yen is a beast.
Sadly, he is not known by many in America. :csad:

I hate that he only gets small roles in american movies. I think the last movie I can remember him being in was Blade II. I think in american movies he does more work behind the cameras. For example he was responsible for the fight choreography in Blade II.

Donnie Yen for Kung Lao
Sammo Hung for Bo Rai Cho

Mk1 the movie was a fantastic movie, however part 2 was one of the worst ever made...re-doing the entire series is the right thing to do. Hope it works out well this time.

I still love the Johnny Cage/Scorpion fight! I even love how ridiculously bad and forced the ADR was to include Scorpion's signature line from the game, "Get over here!"
