How hard is it to make a mortal kombat movie based off the game? I mean as sucky as a director wes anderson is he atleast mirrored it pretty well. Its not like were trying to translate shakespearre to the big screen. Why couldnt spielberg be a fan and force hollywood to make one.

.... It's not even like it's some empty video game like Rampage or something. There is a lot of backstory/mythos to craft into what I would consider a very entertaining screen play. So many characters to choose from and work with. Just amazes me how anyone could f- it up.

Thats the great thing about it, you can easily have a few at first then with sequels add more characters, if done right they could easily crank out a sequel. I get mad and sad when I see garbage like battleship and the 3 stooges chruned out but yet cant get atleast a mortal kombat screenplay.

Very simple:

Lui kang is the chosen one and he's is aided by jax/sonya/cage/kitana and the first tournament we see them take on a revamped and older looking shang sung and his minions of baraka/reptile/mileena and goro. Then you have wildcard fighters like subzero and scorpion who enter the tournament just to kill each other. the thing they have to change is people have to die including some of the main ones to make the stakes high each movie or else we wont care. I say have sonya and jax die for once and cage kill reptile and baraka and liu kill goro/scorpion and shang sung. Then save khan and Quan chi as the baddies for the remaining 2 movies. But have Quan chi make a few cameos in the first to show him manipulating scorpion. Just spit balling.

You mean Paul Anderson. He's the british dude that ****s up all the video game adaptations. Wes Anderson is the american dude that does Tenenbaums and Moonrise Kingdom and what not.

Yeah, it sounded like a BS rumor. It made no sense. The director went out on his own to push for a violent and faithful Mortal Kombat, not to destroy it with the rumored plot. Plus, he already did the trailer and web series so betray that?
