Sequels MOS Trilogy: Villains? Plots? Supporting Cast?

Man of Steel is on it's way, we know a bit about it, origin story, Zod, military, Kents. Good times

How would you round out a sequel, or would you take it further than that? There are some copyright concerns, I know, but if they can push it back to 2013, then I suspect they have a deal.

Anyway, my thoughts:

The Last Son of Krypton

Villains:

Lex Luthor as main villain, battles superman from a very public position and puts him in very difficult moral circumstances. Throughout the film Parasite, a LexCorp creation, originally a cure for cancer, made with Kryptonian DNA, runs amok. Meanwhile, the Metallo project is used to control it, and show how Superman is not an effective hero.

Supporting Cast:

Add in The Daily Planet guys, John Henry Irons and Emil Hamilton as LexCorp employees who are instrumental and make fateful decisions.

Plot:
Lex Luthor runs LexCorp, and basically is a social rival for Superman that becomes an ideological rival. He feels Superman makes the people weak and unable to rely on themselves, and so most of his desire to defame and kill Superman has to do with what he believes is self-preservation, for the betterment of society. Of course, if Superman wasn't stopping his illegal stuff, it wouldn't be so personal. And, then, if Lex Luthor was so entwined in Lois Lane's life it wouldn't be so personal either.

If I where Goyer, I would introduce Brainiac in the first film in order to build up the Death of Superman storyline.

So in the sequel Brainiac is the main villain, and before he is defeated he unleashes Doomsday, where he would defeat Superman to the death, setting up the third film.

Braniac and Bizarro should be the villains in the first sequel.

So in the sequel Brainiac is the main villain, and before he is defeated he unleashes Doomsday, where he would defeat Superman to the death, setting up the third film.

I would love for this to happen in the sequel. I kind of had the same idea for a trilogy during the time when we weren't getting any Superman movie news. Anyways my choices for villains would be Lex Luthor, Brainiac and Doomsday (only for the last half hour) in the second movie with Darkseid being the ultimate threat in the third film. As far as the story goes I have to wait to see how this film will play out.

Movie 1: Zod/ Superman's struggle to get the government to trust him. Luthor as a background figure, unseen, but mentioned as a major corrupt player in Metropolis, that Lois has been trying to get dirt on.

Movie 2: Rise of Intergang as organised crime starts to take over, criminals feeling they can't safely operate without some form of protection now that Superman is about. Luthor and Mannheim clash after Intergang interferes in Lex's business. Lex has had his labs looking in to the properties of an unknown element they've discovered (kryptonite). One of the lab employees has been recruited by Intergang and steals it. They then use it to create Metallo (using the very guy who stole it as the experiment) as they realise they need to destroy Superman in order to be top dog in Metropolis. However, the guy escapes, running back to Luthor and begging for his help. Lex sets him on the big wigs of Intergang. He manages to take out the majority, but Superman soon steps in, unknown to him or anyone how effective Metallo will be against him. After he escaped the first fight, Luthor realises it must be something to do with the extra terrestrial rock, and sees the opportunity to rid himself of Superman once and for all. He sets up a disaster to lure him out. Superman turns up, but eventually wins out against Metallo, whose creation is then traced back to Mannheim, leaving Lex to get off scott free. On the run, Mannheim stumbles across an encounter with Darkseid and makes a deal.

Movie 3: Start with a little bit of the 'Origin of Darkseid' history, and then move back into the real world with Bruno Mannheim being his man on the inside.

That's how i'd do it anyway.

I know a lot of people want Brainiac. But Darseid has always seemed like a much darker and scarier villain to me, and I think it'd make for a more spectacular end to a triology.

Brainiac helps release Zod from the Phantom Zone.
Brainiac helps Luthor clone Bizarro and to build Metallo.
Brainiac fights Superman himself and then releases Doomsday to help him.

3. Supes + Military vs. Brainiac or Darkseid (with Luthor flip-flopping sides). Of course at the end Luthor is evil again.

I'd love that idea, I've always wanted darksied ever since I saw him stas, especially when he killed Turpin. That was so unexpected for me and so dramatic. I always felt with him is a perfect way to end a trilogy. Have braniac and metallo in the sequel. I get a little disappointed cause I think he might be to big for wb to put on film, I hope I'm wrong though

I hate to be a buzzkill, but is there even a possibility of a trilogy (or even a sequel for that matter) with this upcoming cluster**** of a lawsuit?

If we have to wait until 2013 for this film, then how long before the next? They need to fast-track any sequels and have them film concurrently/back to back like the first two Donner films..
