Troy

should not be on that list
Your right. Because,
The Punisher was pretty good.
Troy was even better.
And no one thought MIB2 was gonna be good anyways.

I voted for Van Helsing.

I saw it as a great oppurtunity to get the Universal monsters up there on the silver screen again were they belong.

To say the film was a dissapointment is a massive understatement.

What a waste.

True, when I first saw the Van Helsing poster I envisioned a movie that was a million times cooler than what was released.
More like a new classic, like a Horror-Based Raiders of the Lost Ark or something, and with effects that didn't look like Playstation 2 cutscenes.

The Dracula they used was either someone's nephew or incredibly skilled at oral sex, to get the role.

Totally agree. Sommers had all the right ingedients to make a classic but made a stinker.

Look at some of the decisions made by Sommers and co.

Changed Van Helsings name from Abraham to Gabriel because he thogut Abraham wasnt tough enough?????? WTF?

The appraoch to portraying Dracula was that he was like a 'rock star' of the period (no joke -Sommers actually said that in an interview), hence changing the look and giving him the long hair.

He changed the look of Frankenstein's monster - adding steam venting pistons and rediculous green led style lighting in his chest and head.

The end CGI fest fight scene just summed up the film for me.

A total mess.

Thank god that Universal have realised their mistake and are now going back to the source, making an 'R' rated Wolfman.

Yeah, as far as I know the guy hasn't appeared in a movie since.
Poor Count Von Groovy...

He's been in a couple of films since, 'Stealth' to name one but yeah, his performance in Van Helsing wouldnt have exactly helped his cause.

That being said, the performance should always be kept in check by the director. If the actors' hamming it up unnecessarily or delivering a sustandard performance, the director should rectify it.

Roxburgh's a decent actor so I can only assume that the way he played Dracula was under instructions from Sommers.

Which makes me think even less of Sommers' judgement.

I still cringe at the "Oh Gabriel" line in the ballroom.

>shudder<

Van Helsing is an insult to the horror cinema. Starting with that stupid and gay dracula and the total lack of argument. What a poor movie.

It's a tie between Van Helsing and Dungeons & Dragons for me...I liked most of the others on the list.

I say Matrix Revolutions; for the previous movie to end on a cliffhanger, the 3rd didn't make sense & I found it very anti-climactic.

oh c'mon man troy was terrible! I never thought Petersen was going to make a decent movie after seeing Air Force One, but it was worse than i ever thought possible.

What was there to like, apart from horrific acting(minus Pitt and O'Toole in Achilles tent scene, plus other scenes with Pitt and his slave woman), Eric Bana and Orlando Bloom especially bad, trashy dialogue and the most overbearing ill-placed score i've ever heard? There were no redeeming features, unless you count the action, which i don't.

why? Because i realise how bad that film was and you don't?

Oh crap.I didn't know that was a real website!!!:woot:
But seriously, I had no problems with Troy. I know alot of people who post on this site do, but me and my friends loved it personally. I could see nothing wrong with it and anyone who does is just a harsh critic.

Sorry, but in this Troy movie there are a great actress Called Julie Christie playing Thetis, Achiles'mom, and her scene and dialogue with Pitt was amazing and very well acted. Plus, many Banna scenes as Hector were pretty good acted.

Most disapointing? Maybe X-Men 3. But It's still a lot better movie than most of the other movies on the list
