The Dark Knight Most overanalyzed issue of Dark Knight

So the Joker is psychic then? Because that scene is before harvery becomes two face. And the Joker says "you let 5 people die". Gordon was talking about those 5 people, obviously the joker killed others, but he wasn't referring to EVERYone.

That line had to do with who The Joker killed because Batman never turned himself in. He killed Brian Douglass, Surrilo, Loeb, and those 2 cops in the apartment. those were referred to as the "Joker killings", not the "Dent killings". Gordon & Batman didn't want the public to know about those other killings because Dent killed 5 people too. Put it this way, the first half of the movie is the Joker killings, the 2nd half are the Dent killings.

I agree with that, but it's without a doubt him gesturing/mouthing the word itself. I didn't question what he was actually mouthing when I saw the movie, and I haven't questioned it since haha

I agree. I think the 5 people refer to the 5 that maybe, we, the general public would know about.

2. Commissioner Loeb
3. Judge Surrillo
4. Rachel Dawes
5. Apartment victims (were they cops?)
They looked more like security of some type.

Maroni, Chechen, Wuertz, Lau hadn't been found yet assuming...

The only issue on this list that is an actual issue worth any discussion is the "5 dead, two of them cops" line and possibly whether or not this is Nolan's last Bat film.

Why would the Joker say 10 after the guy said he killed 6 of his friends? That definitely doesn't make sense. My first impression was that mouthed 6, like "I killed 6?". I didn't know this was a big problem for people.

Oh yeah, but clearly people didn't think he was surely dead after watching the movie and not reading the script, otherwise it wouldn't be an issue. Even Aaron Eckhart asked Nolan if he was dead. I guess he's a moron too then. Oh well.

ok... as far as the people Dent actually did kill... not people that some might think or know or predict in some hypothetical gotham... we know, from seeing the film that dent shoots wuertz and maroni's driver and we assume that maroni dies in the accident that ensues.

so thats three, one of them a cop.

its rediculous to think batman would take the heat for a murder that was obviously the joker's doing, IMO... so virtually taking that off the table- is one to assume if all my calculations are correct, that dent killed another cop and another civilian somewhere?

the other civ could have been the bartender... and the other cop could have been ramirez because she went on the run and was assumed dead? - just speculation.
