Hello,

Here's a new contest: Post the most realistic Marvel art you can find. This has to look like it could be entirely plausible, as if superheroes existed in the real world.

Who wins? Adi Granov? Alex Ross? Lee Berjemo? It's up to you to decide.

Alex Ross is the most realistic you can get, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. I wish he would do some more Marvel stuff.

Yea, Alex Ross is the best of the best with Simone Bianchi right behind him.

That is totally unrealistic. I've never met a girl willing to go out into the snow with nothing more than a jacket that covers about as much as a very small form fitting dress, with nothing beneath.

She looks pretty warm to me.

Exactly. How is that realistic?

God knows, in a Marseille winter, if I went out almost buck naked save for a fairly loose coat, I'd probably end up with pnemonia.

Shes getting her some sex so shes plenty warm. Ever had sex? Pretty sticky stuff.

Nah, but there's a whole story behind that.

Either way, that doesn't generate enough heat to make any sane person go out to have sex in a snowbank. People die in snowbanks, and usually lose appendages. It's why you're not suppossed to put bagged ice directly on your skin for long periods of time.

His Wolverine sucks. He looks like a freakin bunny.

I guess, if you like middle aged men in ridiculous looking spandex with pot bellies.

I still say Bermejo draws some of the most realistic real world applicable costumes on any hero.

Well Ross's characters look the most reealistic, what he draws might not be realistic but the people look real, you know what I mean.

Yeah, I thought that cover McNiven did early in the run of the F4 marvel knights with sue and ben on the cover was pretty nifty.

I'll throw another name out there, John Watson.

Please, Ross' women all look like drag queens. Now Dell'Otto is the master of blending realism with comic style.

No they dont, well thats just my opinion, but Wonder WomAn didn't look like a drag queen in Kingdom Come.

Actually shim kinda does, shim face looks like Superman's face.

that's because alex ross sucks.

yes, his work is photo realistic, but it's also devoid of personality. darth gave a pretty accurate description.

How is Alex Ross realistic? All his men have packages bigger than small babies, and his women are men dressed in drag. Pretty realistic?

I like his art, but not very realistic IMO.

And Greg Land? All his women look the same. I would hope he'd be realistic since he's pratically tracing real people.

I like Ross generally speaking, but yeah his art is kinda stiff and his character designs suck balls. It's like he's stuck in the 70's or something. Lee Bermejo does some of the best costume designs it's what I picture a real world superhero costume too look like and Bryan Hitch does some cool design work although he needs to change up the leather jumpsuit look a bit.

i pretty much agree with everything you said. i like hitch's leather costumes. it seems to me that leather'd give you a lot better protection than spandex.

It does but it's seriously hot!! Try wearing a bikersuit all day it'll burn your ass up!

I think supersuits made out of everyday clothing/cloth is doable or a mix of materials to include leather. Alex Ross I love the guys work to death, but you f--k sake Ross read a damn magizine watch some MTV go to a mall update your fashion sense! That's the only thing that irks me really about his work, yeah I get that he's trying to be 'Iconic' or 'Classic' with his takes on superheroes but not everything is Super Friends.
