Or Asgardian?

This post is partly influenced by the sudden influx of Thor-related threads. Let's carry forth the momentum and hope the film would be made soon :D

I kinda like classic 616, without the cape and winged helmet.

I think they should go with something new, some nice viking type armor. I haven't seen the 616 Thor, good or bad?

616 is the original universe of Marvel (as opposed to the Ultimate universe). So 616 Thor is classic Thor - winged helmets, red cape, black shirt with circles, and blue pants.

The recent armored Thor.

Sad that I didn't know that, but thanks. And hell no they can't have him wear that on screen.

Which one? His regular classic one? Yeah, unless they make it look really rough and dirty and armor-like (like they did with Loki during the CGI sequences in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance) then I don't see it working.

I like that one..

But maybe he should start out with something like the Ultimate costume and then slowly progress to the LORD OF ASGARD.

Well it can't be classic... too campy. I would actually go for something new, as long as you keep the general feel of the headress, the hammer (duh), the cape, the blue-black colors and those four circles, I think a Movie Thor costume would be the best to go rather than copying anything straight from the books...

It can be the classic 'look', if not actually the classic costume. They need to have a look at the Thor: Son of Asgard costume (although ditch the 'skirt' obviously). I believe the cover to Issue #11 shows this best.

Then give Thor a cloak and the new redesigned helmet by Olivier Coipel and we are good to go.

Perfect costume.

I'm quite a fan of 1602 Thor.

Maybe the top from that can be used and the bottom from the regular 616 costume. Make the boots look more like dirty old wrapped leather. Make the costume really look home made.

The beard is optional in my opinion...I think the look of the movie in general should get inspiration from Hercules: The Legendary Journey. Maybe even get the same costume designer. Give everthing a tough and leathery look. The 616 costume can work with darkened colors.

I like that idea.

It should probably be somewhere inbetween both the Ultimate and 616. I'd keep the cape because it's very regal. Mjolnir should look big and hefty. The whole costume should have a dirty, battle worn appearance. It should look right at him in a film like Lord of the Rings or something. Keep the beard to.

IMO the Ultimates' look, seems like the artists were just "trying too hard" to make these characters real.

These are comic books, and the original comic book version of Thor is what we should see.

Thor with a lot of armor or a beard, or other "viking paraphernelia" is not the Thor that most of us grew up with.

If I wanted to see that Thor I would go to the library and pick up a mythology book.

Let's keep it real.

Comic book real.:cwink:

You put Thor in his original outfit in the film and see how ridiculus it would look. Just because it looks good on paper, does not mean it would transfer well into motion cinema.

the SUIT yes but do mjolnir CLASSIC that one looks like a fire axe

People used to say that all the time about all "skin tight" costumed heroes because everyone just assumed that it's hard to properly fill out the costumes the same way that they're filled out in the comics, but thanks to the recent Spiderman movies, the Superman movie and even the Fantastic Four movie, those old fears of the heroes looking stupid is nothing to even worry about anymore.

It would be much easier to put Thor in his traditional costume than it would be for Spiderman or Superman because of how Thor's costume is made up.

All of those f'n colors and circles? Come on man yellow boots? Blue tights? What viking God wears that? Again its good for a comic book, but you're looking at real life here.

Exactly, we're trying to give that look of big ass bad ass viking god.. That just doesn't work when your putting him in a red skirt.. The Ultimate Thor has that Bad ass look, but then again Gardian has that traditional Viking look but still looks like a bad ass mutha ****a.

The Ultimates look does not suit 616 Thor at all. It's an entirely different concept.
