Nick fury - black or white?

The Punisher #13 "Mother Russia" storyline. Tim Bradstreet likes to use him for covers every now and then.

I honestly think he whoops butt as Fury, the Ultimate Fury is designed around Samuel Jackson. He's also one of the only black leading parts...

I remember quite a few Jane covers as Punisher but I didnt think he'd "cast" Jane as anyone else. S'cool ****ing cover though

I never had a problem with Sam as Fury but so far we haven't really seen him bring anything to the role that Kurt Russell, for instance, wouldn't have. It does add a nice touch of visual diversity though but that's been about it so far. Maybe Joss will do a lot more with him than we were able to see done in IM2.

This is the only cover he did, the only other times Bradstreet used him as the Punisher was for the series of posters he did for the 2004 film. Jane was on a bunch of Criminal Macabre covers for a while.

Oh, he hasn't done much but being a watered down Sam Jackson's usual character. But he is always there. Doing not too much, just giving details about a future movie in a bland scene and then dissapearing. I've learnt to hate his presence. And the good old Coulson... I'm starting to hate when he appears too.

So... when Sam Jackson isn't yelling and cursing, it's not a different character, it's a 'watered down version' of his usual character? Craziness. When Sam Jackson has something more than a cameo role, say, in Avengers, he'll be sure to give orders and launch rockets and show emotions with Loki and... well, you guys have seen the trailers.

What would you guys think of a future sequel where the 616 Fury visits this world??

I mean, at this rate, it looks like the original Fury will never get any air time.

Nick Fury was one of the approximately 119 things I loved about the Ultimate Universe. Nick Fury from the regular Marvel U just doesn't seem to have his appeal... At all.

You need to read more of 616 Fury then. He's awesome.

I have. He's not as appealing as Ultimate Nick Fury. The only memorable thing that I remember from original Nick was when he dressed up as Ultimate Nick as a disguise.

The early Jim Steranko is incredible. It's weird Warhol-esque pop art mashed up with Connery era James Bond and Silver Age comics.
