$40 a month? Even if I saw four movies within a month -- in my area and at my theater, it wouldn't be close to $40. It'd be more like $21-$32 if they were all 2D pics.

Tickets must be super cheap where you live. Here, they're $11. Four movies would be $44. And that's if you're only buying ONE ticket per movie. Two tickets per film would be $88. Child tickets cost $8. A family of four, for example, would pay $38 for ONE movie. Four films would be $152. So, for you, MoviePass would be useless. But for many others, it's a bargain.

I just got it a couple of weeks ago and used it this past weekend. it was super easy. Got it when it was $6.99 per month but paid the full amount upfront.

I do it all the time, but they say you're not "supposed to." Since they have that only see a movie once thing. I sometimes just activate for some obscure indie movie that's playing at the same theatre and get a ticket for a different one.

If you watch 2 movies a month (or 1 depending where you are), you're saving money.

Yeah I've done that for movies that are in DBOX or IMAX/XD. Granted depending on the time of day, you'll either pay the difference or have money go back to the card and not paying anything from your pocket.

Do note people have been banned for doing this. You're not "likely" to be caught, but being flagged in their system for doing it multiple times might lead to it.

For every card reload they always put in a random amount more than you would normally need (eg. $11.82 reload for $10 ticket). This is to account for varying theater prices based on day and time.

If you max out the credit almost every time, or more than usual, it would imply something fishy is being implemented by the user to circumvent the rules.

I've had my MoviePass for just under a month, and I've used it to see Justice League, Murder on the Orient Express, Thor Ragnarok 3 times, The Disaster Artist, CoCo, and The Last Jedi for a second time. And all this has cost me $10. Here where I live, that's still less than a single ticket for regular 2D show. This thing has paid for itself 8x over already.

It's basically gotten me into the habit of, whenever I have a day off or just a few hours free, my first instinct is to now just drop by my nearby theater (which is literally 5 minutes from my apartment) and see what's playing. I've never been that type of moviegoer before, but I love it.
