MoviePass, Sinemia, A-List & Beyond - Subscription Theatergoing

Movie pass has already sealed there demise imho. For the past 9-10 months all you heard was $10 a month for unlimited trips tonthe theater. Now just as summer blockbuster season kicks in they start pulling shenanigans and ticking off there fanbase. Coupled with the endless battle with amc and cinemark its really a matter of months at this point before movie pass goes under..

No one has cancelled though, unless the CEO is lying.

MoviePass needs to chill on the meme content on Facebook and Instagram. lol

This is what I was waiting for and something that makes a lot more sense for me than Moviepass.

I'm already an AMC Stubs member and I reap the benefits of that when it comes to waiving online fees, concessions discounts/upgrades, and reward discounts. $20 per month for up to 3 movies per weak is a great deal, even though I'll probably never take full advantage of it. I'll never have trouble finding a theater and the online ticket-buying purchase will be efficient, including reserved seating and group tickets.

Yeah they kinda knew they had to ramp their game up, especially if it can be used with 3d and IMAX, even I gotta say, hell to the yes.

I guess that's cool if you don't have a pass but i think paying 11.99 a year for amc stubs premiere and then 9.95 a month for movie pass makes more sense for me. I go to Regal more as it is and I adore the alamo drafthouse.

Every AMC theater around here sucks... so I usually stick to Cinemark or Harkins.

This is a fantastic deal if you're in an area with tons of AMCs like me. Advanced ticketing + premium screenings is a steal.

I'm starting to regret my MoviePass + Sinemia sub combo. :funny:

If Regal can step up with a plan of their own, we'll have a real game changer. Thank god MoviePass interrupted this industry with this crazy idea. They'll likely die out, but their impact will have been huge.

Yeah the 3 theaters I like to go to are AMC. I might consider

No AMC around here, Cinemark only and their version of Moviepass sucks. But then I think Moviepass sucks so that's a draw. The future of cinema is not going to be any of these gimmicks if they intend to survive.

IMHO $20 a month is not a good deal. MoviePass is $10 a month and not just AMC.

AMC's program is not competitive.

MoviePass has no premium screenings, advanced ticketing, or repeat viewings. Those are huge advantages for AMC.

Exactly. As per the announcement, this deal also includes 3D and IMAX.

It's absolutely competitive, depending on the individual or family. For someone who doesn't live near an AMC theater or frequent AMC theaters, there's obviously no real benefit.

If someone signed up for this and went to 3 movies per month (let alone 3 per week), it's already a financially viable deal.

Shoot, an IMAX/DOLBY screening by me is $26. Seeing it once a month already saves you some dough. This will be hugely popular in heavily populated cities where ticket prices are insane.

$20 a month is still $240 a year. IMHO they should have a one-time all-in-one type deal.

That is a little over 100 bucks more than i spend right now when i combine my moviepass membership with my amc stubs premiere membership. I really don't think there's enough in here to entice me to switch (unless mp goes away), especially after movie pass added the Alamo Drafthouse in nyc. I use reward points for IMAX anyway.

Plus it's less movies. My crazy butt saw 5 movies in the last 5 days.

I agree.

Surprised it hasn't been posted yet
MoviePass will start to surge prices for popular movies in July

“At certain times for certain films — on opening weekend — there could be an additional charge for films,” Lowe said. The added fee will start at two dollars, but Lowe did not specify how high the pricing can go. Fortunately, MoviePass users who pay for the annual subscription won’t have to worry about surge pricing, as it will only apply to users who are on a month-to-month subscription.

Take moviepass' side one day, then get completely pissed off by them the next. This surge pricing thing is BS.

Moviepass, when your competition does something you're supposed to do something that improves on it, not....what you just did.
