I don't hate these movies and actually like some of them quite a bit but here goes.

Batman Begins
The Terminator (T2 is better by miles)
Alien (The movie is boring but the second one rocks)
J-Park (an adverage movie that has cool loking dinosaurs)

Superman

Really, the only ones I can think of off the top of my head are Napoleon Dynamite and A Beautiful Mind. In ABM, I could never take the movie seriously or feel any sympathy for Crowe's character. The woman fell in love with him for what seemed to be no good reason whatsoever, and that kinda set the tone for the rest of it for me. It's been a little while since I've seen it, so I don't remember all the details, but I just remember my feelings toward it being in stark contrast to that of everyone else I knew who'd seen it.

I don't understand why people are listing X3. It was never overrated in the first place. It only received relatively mediocre reviews, and a lot of movie goers were disappointed.

Now, Superman Returns is an overrated movie. After reading all the reviews, I was expecting to be blown away. I really wasn't.

actually, if a movie is overrated its only an opinion..

If i thought thought x3, was the worst movie of all time...

And the critics said, its mediocre... then, its still OVERrated

That applies to SR as well as X3, and SR also bombed based, which doesn't show an overwhelming amount of popularity for it.

Yeah but i think they did a great job of loosing the kid exterior in Aviator.He just holds his own in a really great cast.

Well. I think for me - there was some scenes in the movie where he does pull it off. But it was inconsistent.

I don't dislike them, but I think the Spider-Man movies are overrated, just like the eponymous character.
I also don't understand why people like Alien and Aliens. I was bored during both of them
Same thing with 12 Monkeys.
Terminator didn't do **** for me, but T2 was fantastic so I guess that makes up for it

all the movies you just listed in your post before that you think are 'overrated' (because leo looks 'too young', of all the dumb reasons to think a whole movie is overrated) he never really played an actual "adult", the way you're implying he should have.

in titanic, he played a teenager, young adult at best, who won his way onto the ship.

in gangs of new york, um... again.. not supposed to be old.

in catch me if you can, he played a high school kid for half the move, for crying out loud.

and howard hughes (the aviator) in real life, if you've ever seen him, never showed his age. he'd always looked pretty young.

Take it easy.

First of all - when someone believes that something is over-rated - that opinion can't help but be all inclusive. You can't really say "I thought part of that movie was over-rated." The opinion is of the movie as a whole.

I can have specific reasons why the movie didn't work for me. And those specific reasons caused me not to like it as much as everyone around me. And which leads me to believe that the movie (as a whole) is over-rated.

For me - all of the movies on my list were praised for many reasons. And alot of the praise was surrounding Leonardo's performances. I simply didn't see performances (by Leonardo) worthy of that praise in those movies. And a major reason for me not digging his performance or not believing in those performances is because he looked too young for those parts. And since he was the star and his characters were the focus of each of those movies - I ended up not enjoying those movies (as much as everyone was raving about them).

Was he the same age as the characters he portrayed in those movies? I don't care. He looked (to me) to be too young.

And that is MY reason why I think those movies are over-rated.

I don't think it's a dumb reason at all. Just my reason.

The title of this thread isn't "Movies you hate or think are overrated that Mr. Credible loves."
