Movies you LOVE that other people generally HATE

I enjoy most of the choreography in the fight scenes, but the biggest thing that bugged me was the fact that Neo had his superpowers all screwy. He could not simply fly into the Agents and make them explode apart, and yet, he now has some superpowers in the real world.

It looks like he needed a moment to channel his flying powers, ie hack into the matrix, and when there was a lull in the fight he took that option. It took him some time to burst free from the Smiths too.
Why have this huge fight scene with hundreds of Agent Smiths when he could telefrag Smith in the first movie? To me that whole fight scene was pointless, why was Neo back to using martial arts?
Agent Smith had changed from what he was in the 1st movie remember, he'd became far more powerful, too powerful to be taken care of like that. Apart from the fact there were more of him appearing, Neo would have clocked this when Smith tried assimilating him just before the fight began.
I agree the fight seems pointless, but I always just put that down to Neo enjoying himself and seeing if there was a limit to Smith's powers.
As well as what I was saying before, he seems to need to take a moment to actually fly, as opposed to jumping around, maybe he needed to hold off the Smiths until he could find that moment. He flies off once he's cleared some room after breaking free from the pile on.

I really loved Superman Returns a lot. I was actually really surprised how much fans thrashed it.

I didnt love Superman Returns, but it is not god awful as ppl think. I'm glad that Singer tried to make it deeper like DC films should be. But in doing so he completely abandoned the action aspect, which really made the film suffer. That and some of the casting choices I think made the movie alot worse

Yeah, Bosworth was pretty weak, for sure.

I didn't mind the lack of action though. There was enough to keep me happy. Honestly, I've grown pretty tired of endless action in these flicks, and am usually far more interested in watching the characters interract and develop than punch and shoot each other.

Not to mention there was far more resonance in Superman's beatdown on NKI than any CGI pixels smashing together could ever hope to acheive.

Muppets from space
I remember seeing that movie when I was little and crying my eyes out. But I claimed it was because I wanted my blankie because I had to be tough! I was no wimp!

Sin City. Most of the people on here seem to love it and it's one of my favorite movies, but most people I know hated it or thought it was stupid.
The entire Pirates of the Caribbean series. Yes, I even liked the third one.

More about the low-ball general public opinion. That is what pi$$ed me off, when I hear crap from the chumps that throw money at mediocre crap like Fast and Furious who say Watchmen looked boring.

Just because the comic community likes it doesn't mean the GA should.

I would say Short Circuit 2 and The Last Dragon, but who doesn't like those movies?

Beowulf
I would of liked a live action version way more. I think most animation these days is a waste of space due to lack of story. But here's an acception, taking a great story and having Neil Gaiman and Roger Avery play with it with Zemeckis directing in his bizarre motion capture room. And what a cast!

Super Mario Bros.
I wasn't really a fan of the games. I played them here and there, but when I heard about the movie I wasn't expecting a guy to be jumping around the whole time avoiding flying objects. It's a curious film, and I can see why others find it garbage. But I look at it from a general popcorn movie standpoint. Is it funny? Does it have a story? Does it keep you entertained? Does it have a theme you can whistle on your way home? All the above, yes.

Toys
My gf hates this as much as the critics did. Again I don't know what people expect from it...a drama or a strict non stop comedy? It's magic to me. It's there to enjoy.

Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey
It's not a deep series of movies. They are just fun. And this one went a different route, and pretty daring I'd say for a movie that appeals to children. Bill and Ted die and go to hell. Ha! The highlight of this movie is the Grim Reaper played by William Sadler "You have sunk my battleship!"

I thought V For Vendetta was generally liked by audiences. I agree on Hulk. Underrated.

That movie was offensive to the entire comedy genre.

And Catwoman? Seriously?

And what's with the caps lock dysfunction?
