Ms. Marvel becomes Captain Marvel

I hope she goes without the mask most of the time. Seeing it in panels from actual comics and not just covers and pin ups, the new costume actually looks pretty cool. It could grow on me.

This idea for Carol's Captain Marvel uniform comes from the Ultimate Captain Marvel idea mixed with Thor and the Warriors Three movie costumes. This could work for Carol's Captain Marvel movie costume. The Earth bound characters like Cap and Black Widow in the Avengers wear uniforms that look more like fabric and have straps and zippers and pouches. But Thor and Loki and the Warriors Three wear highly elaborate designed armor. Of coarse, like Thor, she would only have the helmet for a small scene and then never wear it again. Unless the actress is like Hugo Weaving or the actor who played Loki and she doesn't mind wearing the helmet.
I made the armor more rusty reddish (like how the Warrior's Three's armor were colorful) instead of silver like the Ultimate version. Her clothing under the armor would be like Thor's pants, fabric but still trying to look alien.

(When Mar-Vell is wearing the armor I imagine his skin would be glowing blue like Dr. Manhattan in the Watchmen movie.) So he would still have the red and blue color scheme from the 616 Captain Mar-Vell, and the glowy thing of Genis-Vell.

The idea would be that this is Kree (Mar-Vell's) armor that he gave her as he was dying. The Kree tech converted it to her body. Now she uses his alien armor and technology to protect, sort of like an extremely advanced Iron Man armor from space.

This version has what could be glowy areas on her armor.

She looks too much like Power Girl in those pics. I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry at the sight of her giving Spider-Man an aerial piggy-back ride.

I'm still not feeling this new look. It's very meh, not dynamic at all. She doesn't look like Ms. Marvel anymore, she looks like any generic 'new' character who pops up every other year. They could have at leas kept her hair longer. Here's hoping this look doesn't last long.

It seems like Marvel can't get on the same page with her look. I'm just glad to see Spidey there because I'm the only person remotely interested in a Pete/Carol romance.

Didn't one of the Spider-Man writers say that he didn't want Spider-Man dating a super-heroine?

Not that I'm aware of. I know some fans are against it. I think Marvel is slowly pushing it like they were slowly pushing him unmasking.

As a long time Spidey fan - I'm all for it. You might as well take advantage of the potential stories before he inevitably goes back to MJ.

I remember reading somewhere on line that either Dan Slott or one of the other Spider-Man writers was against him dating a superheroine because 'the underdog every man should only ever date down to earth regular women'.

Just like the underdog every man sells his marriage to the devil to keep his withered 104 year old aunt alive.

And even with this underwhelming and unasked for new design Carol is still too good for him. And throwing her at him is like throwing Wonder Woman at Batman - hope that the more iconic character will somehow bolster her popularity.

Preview of Captain Marvel #1

It looks like basically the same preview pages we've seen a couple times before. No dialogue still. I really hate this art style, though. I was thinking of giving this series a try because I've been growing more interested in Carol lately, but that art. Yeesh. I don't know if I can stand it long-term.

Wow, that artwork is terrible and only makes this awful re-design look even worse. It's gonna take a lot of positive critical buzz to get me to even consider purchasing this.

No, you're not. I think since they went to lengths making Spider-man single again they should at least put these two together for a bit. Though I want to see him back with MJ because in my mind there was no real need to split them up, I do think they should use the situation and have them date. At least it's better than creepy 'keep your mask on' sex with Black Cat.

I still wonder how long this new look will last. DC's tried replacing Wonder Woman's costume a few times in favor of something more "practical" but it never lasts.

Maybe not to the general public but Ms. Marvel's look is pretty well known to fans. And replacement costumes still have a history of not sticking.

Ive wanted her with Captain America myself. She'd make a great addition for the next rotation in his team up series. Captain America and Ms. Marvel (screw her new name) has a nice ring to it

I could see her with either Captain America or Ben Grimm, but not Wolverine, then again I'm biased (I hate Wolverine and I don't buy Marvel's insisting that he be everyone's gruff grumpy pal).
