MTG: Magic The Gathering

I think if you don't have someone close to you who plays, it kinda doesn't catch you, as my brother plays, and I see him every day, it catches on nicely indeed and provides wonders of fun :)

Exactly. I didn't even know about it, til my friend Glenn told me about it. Then I read the instructions cover-to-cover, and played. Then, it turned out, I had a lot more friends who played.

recently discovered the "Banding" rule, a little complicated, but combining it with "Venom" and combat damage = kill cards :)

not tested this white and green deck yet, and i'm wokring on a red/green/blue flier deck

Triple colour decks are really hard to work with, but if you can do it, it's completely worth it.

I've always been a fan of red/black, or black/white.

My white decks are solid, a white weenie, one mana 1/1 with first strike, 1 mana 2/1, and some WW 2/2 first strikes that have protection from either red or black.

Some equipment etc, buff ups, things to make the weenies big :)

My favorite was always green/red. My best one was a land destruction/aggro.

My current best deck is a blue green, based mostly off of healing and pumping creatures.

I've got a few Spike Feeders, and a lot of cards that allow me to pump them, like Dragon Blood, which is good, because each +1/+1 you take off gives two life. And even with that, if you don't take the counters off, you've got a beast of a defender. And, through some chance of it being destroyed, you can declare that you take off all the counters before it dies, so you still get the life.

Tempest was one of my favorite sets. Mogg Fanatic and Jackal Pup are a great combination.

I just stick with casual play, since its not expensive like competetive play.

What's weird, is that I have 6 copies of Mogg Fanatic, and 3 of them say that the casting cost is (R), and the other three say (R) (R).

My brother's newest version of a modular deck is kinda awesome, it has some sick stuff in it, and no matter what you do, something gets bigger, grrr!

Also, we've made an all black deck with no creatures. :)

Creature removal, like the artifact disc that removes everything except land, terror, things like that, and "XBB" cards, which deal X damage and you gain X life.

Also deathcloud, "XBBB" - each player sacrifices X land, creatures, life and discards X cards.

And like a mini version of terror which is BB but only causes the players to sacrifice 1 creature, land, card and life .

And pestilence, which is an enchantment that for B it deals one damage to each creature and player, when no creatures in play, sacrifice it.

So basically you can't play creatures against it, lol.

Ah, smart move. Just make sure you still have enough damage dealt to the opponent. I had a buddy make that mistake once. Had a completely impregnible deck....and no direct damage.

well i got roasted by this black deck, lol

We had a black deck before that but we took it apart, it was kinda too powerful, so we didn't use it much, except against the blue control, white weenie or madness, everyhting else didn't even have a fighting chance

Wow it's like another language in here.

I've still gotta post my blue and green deck, and probably my shotgun deck.

Those 3 that say (R) (R), are hey black-bordered or white bordered?

Here's my deck, if either of you two are curious:

4 Mogg Fanatic
2 Scorched Rusalka
4 Jackal Pup
4 Slith Firewalker
2 Blood Knigt
3 Sulfur Elemental
2 Fledgling Dragon

4 Lightning Bolt
4 Chain Lightning
4 Magma Jet
3 Fireblast

4 Wooded Foothills
4 Bloodstained Mire
16 Mountains

White bordered, I believe, but I could be wrong. They're not right in front of me.

*saves post*

I'll probably make that and try it out on my friends. I'll let you know how it goes.

If they're white-borders, its a misprint. I believe they came in a boxed set for group games. Tempest has the proper cost of (R). This summer, Tenth Edition is coming out, and Mogg's getting a reprint in those new cardframes.

I only hope Jackal Pup makes it too.

Ah, okay.

I wonder if they're worth anything.

Good luck with the deck...watch out for COP:Red.

Chances are, if I play it, it's not going anywhere near anything mixed with white, so I'm good.

Thanks for the info, by the way.

got two decks I'm gonna buy some cards for and build, a 'counters' deck and a 'land destruction'
