If this didn't have the Scream name attached it would come off way better. Doing a teen slasher story on TV isn't a bad idea.

I actually don't mind the new mask, but it feels like it kind of loses something without that Ghostface voice.

From the reviews I've read it seems the show feels like Scream even though the killer and characters are different. I hope that Ghostface does actually appear at some point, maybe in the final episode.
