Sequels Multiple Man movie with James Franco announced!

For the exact reasons I mentioned. Madrox is and always was the lead character of the modern X-Factor series. The book and premise of the team was built around him and it makes more sense to have it be a spinoff from him than the other way arund. Comparing it to Avengers and JL is the wrong way to think about it bc none of the characters warrant a solo film outing to slowly build up the team.

The original Madrox series featured Siryn and Strong Guy as supporting cast members and the team was rounded out with Monet, Rictor and Wolfsbane when the team was set up for the X-Factor ongoing

The setup is right there. The Madrox film serves as the origin story and introduces half the cast with X-Factor spinning out of that jumping straight into the action with the remaining three. That format is better than cramming an origin story and introducing 6 main characters into one film
I think Franco is pretty baller casting as Madrox. He looks Ryan Sook's drawings of him.

It depends on which "Franco" we're getting. If we get serious Franco, I'm all for it. If we get weird ash Franco where this is one big joke, I'll pass. Here's to hoping he approaches this with some legitimacy.

Honestly, I'm torn. Madrox is a character who puts on a facade of not taking himself too seriously (it's really a front to hide how he feels), but it would be a mistake if we're dealing with an entirely serious James Franco, imo.

As a man who wears many hats irl, Franco probably was attracted to the idea of playing multiple versions of the same man. It’s probably an experimental thing for him, which is as it should be. We should get goofy Franco as much as we get a serious Franco. Jamie’s dupes are sometimes out of his control and it could be interesting to explore that. Franco has the right combination of hero and jack*** to play the character.

Well, supposedly playing twins is the reason he took the role on HBO's porn show. This is just that on a bigger scale.

"There's not many. Maybe some film nerds could name some necrophiliac films, but maybe we don't want to hear them. But I was missing the entertainment component, right? And that's the other thing, we want to make movies for audiences, and that kind of thing. What I love about what Simon Kinberg and Fox and the X-Men people have done with Deadpool and Logan — it took a while to get there, maybe 10 years, but they are going to go hard R. And we're going to take, you know, this superhero thing and really just push it into a new genre. Deadpool's almost like an action romantic comedy. And Logan's like a western, you know?"

Cool, sounds good to me. Looking forward to this :up:

Franco is saying the right things. Could be an awesome murder-mystery with him and Terry or Guido or whatever, in the same vein as Deadpool!

Well, never let it be said he doesn't know what's going on.

What if Franco brings some of his crew with him. A certain group of actors that always seem to star in the same movies together... Lizzy Caplan appeared in a couple of his films and now is in talks for Gambit....maybe it has begun. Keep Seth Rogen away though.

Give how Preacher was worked out, I don't know if you can discount Rogen's abilities. Maybe his acting, but he's got strong nerd cred.

Not to mention Rogen also will be working on The Boys soon, so he definitely knows his stuff or is at least a huge fan of the source material for his comic related projects.

At most bring in his brother & caplan. The rest of his crew..... Nah

I mean, him and his brother are producing under their banner, so he's technically bringing in his people already anyways. I'm glad him and his brother are taking ownership though, like Ryan and Chan. Who knows though, maybe Alison Brie could join the X-Men universe alongside the elder Franco? I wonder who could she or Dave could possibly play if either of them join.

Franco apparently wants a hard R. Which is interesting...

Doesn't mean it has to be This is the end on screen.

Lol I like that film. I don't think they will turn their corner of the x franchise into stoner comedies.....

It could be worse, at least its not the Adam Sandler/Keven James crew.....:oldrazz:

You can't not have comedy with a character played by james franco that can create doubles of himself.

At this point I think it's more about finding something original with the team involved and having a fresh take. The R rating makes sense with who's involved.

Comic book movies and shows are so in abundance that like Franco said it's great Deadpool and Logan have such an identity that stands out.

Using the “hard R” as a selling point for Multiple Man, as was the case with Logan prior to its release back in March, feels kind of…off, for lack of a better term. There’s nothing wrong with an R-rated superhero movie in and of itself, as both the Blade films and Logan have shown that the more mature rating allows you to get away with a lot more in terms of violence and spectacle that one could argue are both vital to the character. And since there’s clearly a vocal audience that wants superhero movies more mature and aimed at them, by all means, tap into that market. It’s not like movie ratings mean much anyway, and the R-rating isn’t as much of a box office deterrent as it used to be these days. But instead of realizing that an R-rating worked for Deadpool and Wolverine because of who they intrinsically are, Fox seems to think the other way around–namely, that a character can work for an R-rated superhero film just because it’s R-rated. And that’s not the best of lessons to take from this runaway success, especially when that includes only two out of eleven movies.

There's nothing that excites me about this movie. Multiple Man just seems like the sort of character you would trod out after having exhausted other options and I'm just not a big Franco fan. Just seems like a weird project to greenlight at this stage.
