I kinda did this thread earlier this year, but I basically wanted to do a redo of it. Simply, I wanted a thread to showcase any bands or artists that I come across that, I not only like, but have a certain unique and definitely quirky charm to them. Some of my picks will be really popular guys and girls who everybody loves, and some will be by artists even I don't know much about.

Without further ado, my first pick:

The Grass Roots.

Recognize the guy on the bottom left? That's Creed Bratton from The Office fame, which was what caused me to revist The Grass Roots. But I've been listening to them for years on my local oldies station. For anyone who's a fan of '60s folk rock, The Grass Roots were an essential part of that scene.

Here are two of their biggest hits: Midnight Confessions and Sooner or Later.

And next on my list, Amanda Palmer:

Palmer appeared for the first time in the early 2000s with the band The Dresden Dolls and quickly made noise for her genre-bending sound and counter-cultural lyrics, she is the goth that refused to be classified as goth, and is constantly relevant and self-deprecating humorist with a flare for the bizarre. Since splitting with her one other Dresden bandmate, she's found increased fame in a solo career, and has started another frightful side act Evelyn and Evelyn with street performer Jason Webley. Currently, she's dating comic legend Neil Gaiman.

Here's two of her singles from Who Killed Amanda Palmer:

I sure did not know she was dating Mr Gaiman... wasn't he married?
