The Dark Knight MUST be 'R' Rated...

Do you really need me to scan pictures, you've must of read The Killing Joke, Hush, The Long Halloween, and the one the damn sequel is named after The Dark Knight Returns? These are all books that lend themselves to an R-rated film, that has adult content in them.
don't forget arkham asylum . now THAT is some r rated material for ya right there.

hmm.... countless disturbing images , blood and gore , violence ,etc......

Meh. Scan for us this hard "R-rated" material. Prove these claims. Violence, disturbing images and blood don't automatically make for an R-rating.

good god dude, do even have a ****ing SCANNER in which to prove anything you say? Cus until you do, all your doing is blowing hot air.

As I said, put your money where your mouth is. Provide evidence to support your claims or GTFO.

You would **** if you saw my collection. But I have not read Arkham Asylum. So... prove me wrong. SCAN something.

So far none of you people has had the frijoles to actually do that. So SCAN something. Prove me wrong. Put up or shut up, as they say.

there. happy?

sorry that it's sideways and everthing...

Oooh, a knife in the hand! That's real edgy there, bub.

Did you notice that the blood is never shown in the same frame as the hand?

That's called "bucking the censors."

So it's probably a *hard* PG-13, but it's still probably a PG 13.

And, while that book appears to be nice and artistic - it is also not AT ALL indicative of most Batman stories.

is a spear being shown DIRECTLY AND CLEARLY IN A MAN'S STOMACH , WITH BLOOD a hard pg -13 ?

i'm not saying that i mind a pg -13 batman film , i wouldn't mind it at all ,but i wouldn't mind an r rated film either. why do you ?

Gotta co-sign here.

Anyone that's actually going to complain about an R-rated batfilm is stupid imo. But on the same token, anyone that thinks PG-13 isn't enough for a mainsream release is equally ******ed.

If I had it my way, Nolan definitely should make a PG-13 film for mainstream release, but then film a few extra scenes here and there (if necessary) for an R-rated DVD cut.

Everyone was saying BEGINS had to be R-Rated before it came out too. They said it wouldn't be good unless it was R. It is clearly untrue.

I'm not sure what kind of subject matter you want to see in a Batman movie that warrants an R rating. Death and murder isn't enough? And the amount of gore in the books depends on who's writing it. For the most part, the default is a hard PG-13 for most of the Bat books, though.

Imo if they had gone all out with Scarecrow's gas effects, they could've done some spectacular sh1t with an R-rating. :o

Titan, I own Arkham Asylum, and have read it countless times. If they made a movie adaptation for it, it could very easily be rated PG-13.

I don't think that's more violent than ANYTHING in the first Mortal Kombat movie, which was PG-13.

Oh yes...

They could do some spectacular things with an "R" rating.

still , i never said that a pg - 13 batman movie is bad , but an r rated batman movie isn't bad either. so what's the problem with it ?

Those pics look "R"ish to me. I'd love a R rated Batman but it'll never happen. Maybe on the DVD version like someone else said.

Meh, could just be me...but if Arkham Asylum were a movie, I would think of it as being R

Because of the Molesting Mad Hatter, the sick melting naked clayface, the Two Face who pisses himself because he can't decide what to do from his 52 choices (cards), the cross dressing Joker slapping Batman on the ass, the people getting their throats slit, Batman cutting himself.....and so on and the such

If it's done realistically, there really would not be al ot of blood unless the spear was pulled out. So, absolutely PG-13. And, that does not appear to be a man, in the strictest sense... the rules are different for non-humans. Witness LOTR - which were PG-13 - where Boromir was shot full of arrows (realistically shown to bleed only a small amount since the arrows plug the holes) and countless Orcs were decapitated or otherwise dismembered, complete with black Orc-blood spattering the heroes and their blades.

So yes, it's entirely PG-13.

i'm not saying that i mind a pg -13 batman film , i wouldn't mind it at all ,but i wouldn't mind an r rated film either. why do you ?

You didn't, but Visionary said the films have been "watered down" which is patently false, and that's what started this discussion. Would I mind an R-rated Batman movie? Not on principle, but the only reason a Batman movie would need to be rated R would be because it bore no resemblance to the comics that we all love.

And BTW, don't confuse PG-13 with G... "G" is kid-friendly. "PG-13" is, "may be inappropriate for children under 13, parental guidance suggested."
