My coworker got fired today due to random drug test

This isn't my main job, but my second job at the Amazon book warehouse. One of the guys I know just recently was asked to go to the main office area and was gone for like two hours, then he comes back and is like, "I'm fired." Later I find out that they basically did a random drug test, and he obviously had been hitting something the night before or earlier that day, and unfortunately he failed. So to all you druggies out there, watch yourself.

Thankfully most of the jobs I get to do nowadays don't require drug testing. Then again, I have a suspicion that most people in my field smoke pot, if past experience is any indication. t:

At the hall they have two seperate job lists. When jobs come up most request from the drug tested list. But they most likely will test them again, guys hate that. They get all pissed off. I've been staying away from the poppy seed bagels, damn they're good.

I have better advice, get clean if you're using and don't start if you're contemplating it.

Drug tests have changed since the whole poppy seeds bringing out a false positive. The tests aren't as strong and do not see the little bits of drugs in poppy seeds. Thank Seinfeld I guess.

How is this shocking? Your company policy probably says that they can do random drug screenings and it's well within your company's rights to do so, also financially it's a good idea to test for drug usage.

I know that there are probably alot of people that smoke some weed where I work and I know that we can randomly drug test. If we determine that they are using any illict substances then we'll fire them. No body's fault but their own though.

Something tells me this probably wasn't as random as you think. They most likely already had some suspicion for a while. If it was random there'd probably be more than one person taking it.
