My coworker got fired today due to random drug test

Yeah, random never really means random unless they hit the whole office. Personally I think random drug testing should be illegal, an initial drug test to get a job is fine but after that it seems a gross invasion of privacy. If someone sees you doing drugs or notices a massive change that can be documented that's one thing, but to tag people just because they work for you? How the hell did that go through? Presumption of innocence has become just a funny little thing no one even gives lip service too anymore.

And to all those people saying all drugs are for losers and such. Lighten up, maybe smoke a joint and stop judging everyone. Considering legal drugs are taken by almost everyone now (and generally are more addictive and devistating) and that everyone on earth, EVERYONE, has some serious problems in one form or another it just doesn't fly. If jesus came back around, he could say that, everyone else needs to **** unless they have no social problems whatsoever that some people would find wrong. Plus who the **** wants to go to a party with someone of Barbara Bush's mindset?

spoken like a true doper. :cwink::woot:

Absolutely. I like to confine my vises to material things like pot, alcohol and women...it's the straight and normal people with deepseeded mental problems that scare the hell out of me.

I don't dispute that we as a society are over-medicated....be it pot, pills, or whatever...we do that instead of actually dealing with our problems...I can't tell you how tired I am of hearing "I smoke pot, because if I didn't I'd hurt people" or something to that effect.....

What about the people that take mood altering drugs to stave off violent impulses? I mean personally I'm sick of hearing people talk down about "evil pot" while they slam back their coffee pop a zanax and shove a big mac down their fat gullets. When I see that I just want to punch their ****ing eyes down their throats, but then I light up a joint and the moment passes...

WHen I was selling cars, they did random drug checks every month. The boss would always give me $50 to go and take the test for someone else.

I do go to therapy, but I refuse to take any sort of prescription even though my therapist has offered....I have an issue even taking cold medicine if I get really sick, which is rare

They should do this at every job. I don't want some drugged up employee pointing me to the wrong aisle for my favorite crackers.

You should trust the potheads to know where the good snacks are.

Over medicated? Yes. But we also arent responsible for the drugs we take, legal or illegal. I cant function without my anti-depressants but I'm sure some people would still say that I dont need them. As a manic depressive, I absolutely need them, but for a teenager going through the BS of being a teen? Thats different.

I smoke pot because I enjoy it.

That doesn't sound random. It sounds like the kind of company that makes you sign a form when you're hired that says they can fire you if you're caught using drugs, and it sounds like they knew he was.

Did he operate heavy machinery?

Had he been in an auto accident recently or something similarly traumatic? A lot of company insurance policies require drug tests if there is an accident of some kind.

i can see a drug test being necessary in certain situations but if it doesn't interfere with the guy's work performance he should be left alone . there are also functioning alchoholics who will never get tested but are more likely to be the cause of an accident
or hurt someone else.

Drugs are for losers

Shhh you.

See, that could apply to some people, but not all. I do drugs, not heavy ones obviously, just weed and if I go raving I might get on the ol' disco biscuits!

But I don't do it to get away from my problems, I do it because I enjoy it and because I want to. Simple as that really.
