Some of you may remember my "I'm skeptical" thread. Well, I got over it last night & now I'm as psyched as I was for the first two.:cyclops: :wolverine :xmen:

please tell us... "how" you got over your doubs etc....

ah yes, lol... ill have to go watch thtat again then

Yeah, the preview definitely made me feel much better as well. I've still got some big concerns, but they're not as bad as they were.

I was already as psyched as I could be...Watching the preview didn't raise my expectations or anticipation for this movie much because I've felt that there's nothing else that can put myself at ease other than watching the movie itself... :D

Everytime i think about how little time Cyclops gets i get less and less psyched. Whatever, at least i've got Batman Begins 2 to look forward to.

Do u guysa actually never take a sneak at the spoilers... it's all out there... and a lot of people are disappointed... not giving anything away... but ju8st wondering if u guys check out the spoilers from time to time...

Most of the people that are dissapointed are typically the ones that are biased to one or two particular characters to the point in which the entire movie for them will feel like a total letdown if one or two of those characters aren't given satisfying parts to them..

Like, for example, if I was the biggest Gambit fan in the world, I would hate all of the X-Men movies mostly because Gambit wasn't in them..

It's not the best analogy, but there's some relevance.. :p

I agree with you, but on the contrary Singer really stayed true to the comic books and it seemes ratner might stray away from it

Ya... the characters are really unaccurate to what we read... but it's going to make for a good movie nontheless...

It's just that the decisions they made were so crucial yet so contradictory to what we know Xmen is about... that's why ppl have a problem with it...

How so? They've changed little details, but nothing that completely bastardized the characters.

I don't think that the characters are any less true at all in this installment. Bryan made a lot of changes, and I am okay with the changes, but Brett is an actual fan(boy), he knows the comics and the characters well.

And it's kind of funny to me that you feel better after seeing the 7-minute preview, only because I feel more nervous after seeing it.

But I am still excited nonetheless.

Isn't Ratner working off a script that was already in place when he came aboard?

Yes, he is but that script was already a mess when he came on board and he couldn't stray too far from it because of the studio execs.

I think I will enjoy the movie, but I have some issues with: Callisto's superspeed (they've just added on Quicksilver's power, I guess to make her more of a threat to Storm), with Psylocke's portrayal and what happens to her character, and with the very different outcomes of some classic scenes with Jean removing Cyke's visor and with Xavier fighting Jean... Those are, to me, a little disappointing. So is Juggernaut's accent.

But I shall be seeing the movie before making final judgment. Callisto having mutant-detecting powers seemed fine (she has enhacned senses in the comics)....but the superspeed bothers me a little...I know it's the only way she could be a visual/visible/physical threat to Storm and dodge lightning etc, but it bugs me...

None Of That Bothers Me; No Movie Has Ever Followed The Comics 100%, No Movie Ever Will And I Don't Think I Want It To. As Long As It's Not Goofy Like Batman & Robin Or As Far-removed As Cino, I Can Live With Changes.

All I can say is a lot of people will be disappointed... You might love it... You might hate it... it's going to be a fifty/fifty... but from what I've heard... it's the best of the three...

meh, the 7 minutes didn't do much for me. it made me feel a little better about the script, and I liked Storm a lot more (though I STILL feel Berry is terribly miscast), but the direction itself really doesn't inspire confidence.

btw, does anyone else find it ironic that they place the actress playing Callisto next to one who looks A LOT more like the character?

and where exactly was Psylocke? X-Maniac mentioned he didn't like how she was portrayed, but if you didn't tell me I wouldn't even be able to identify her...
