Wow, time flies by so fast!

I almost don't know what to say to add to this thread.

The memories that stick with me the most are the ones
where I'd think "Gambit's gonna be in the movie!" and have a huge
smile on my face just because of that.
Then things tapered off and I wasn't so disappointed, but it wasn't
fun, I'll tell you that.

I mean, come on, I'd been waiting for the character since X2 and
me and everyone else got bunk! Total fan-disservice, that's what it is.

However, in the theater, the sheer awesomeness of seeing Shadowcat
come alive on the big screen in live action with a good size role
was almost as big a thrill for me. Just recently coming to fully
appreciate and be a fan of her, it was nice to not have to
beg for her appearance. She was simply there and it was
satisfactory.

Going back to the memories of way back when, the anticipation
was great. I didn't get to keep up with the movie as much as I would've
liked, but checking X-Men films dot net every so often and going to
forums and stuff helped keep the excitement (X-citement ?) going strong!

Sometimes I feel like X-Men fans are in a class of our own.
Not as obessive as some other fans, it seems like many of
us have our feet on the ground most of the time.
(IE to my knowledge, we didn't ask to make something from
it an actual religion. I'm dead serious on that one:
Some Star Wars fans wanted to have, like, Jedi-ism or something.:wow:
Heared about it on TV aways back.) So, that's good.

I'm probably all wrong, but now it sounds good to me.

I'm debating wether I'd like to see a fourth movie be made or not.
On the one hand, according to rumors, Gambit would be center stage.
I'd only want to see that happen if the movie were of better quality
and writing then the third, among other things.

I've had such a blast speculating and discussing X3 with all of you. It was such a wild ride. When I compare the X2 days to the X3 days, I find that I enjoyed the X3 days more. Just because there was so much more craziness involved, lol...and I met a lot of great folks through the boards. I hope there will be much more disucssion to come with future X-films ;)

Wow...it does seem just like yesterday!

Geesh, I remember when the teaser trailer went online...I watched it like 20 times straight...it was a very awesome moment. Ahh, how time flies.

I'm glad I came here when I did. I missed out for the first two movies and looking back feel I almost came here too late. Joining up when the movie's done and over with and nothing new to be presented. Thank goodness for all the wonderful momentum that's still going here! Many debates have been fought (and many won), many new friends made, allies, and alliances made, and the future suddenly looks alot brighter :)

(I understand that this isn't directly tied to X-Men: The Last Stand, but it does deal with my journey following this movie, and my journey with all of you all, therefore I feel it belongs here, as it pertains to this particular community)

I can't believe the movie is out on DVD already! I still remember the rumors; would Gambit be in it, who was gonna play Angel, the script review, would Cyclops really make it through to the end?

It's been a long, long, journey, and it feels like just weeks ago we were debating the issue of the runtime over this movie. And now, everything about this movie has been settled, and it's out on DVD. Some of us have it already, the others will be following along soon.

I've never followed a movie's production online before. Hell, with X2, I barely knew it was coming out until I saw the first trailers. I mean, yea, I knew it was being made. But I didn't know when it'd be coming out or anything.

I'd loosely followed the storylines revolving around X-Men: The Last Stand as soon as I saw that Phoenix silouette at the end of X2. It got to a point I was checking xmenfilms.net daily for any news I could find. And soon that wasn't enough. I eventually found my way to the hype boards, where I lurked for about a week, until I couldn't hold my tongue any longer towards Herr Logan and his arguements regarding the costumes, and how the comic costumes should have been used. The rest, as they say, is history.

I've made a few friends (and apparantly an enemy or 2, as liking this movie seems to do that to ya...), and we all stuck together, side by side, through the good times and bad. It was a tough battle sometimes, with all the bombs flying towards us; Cyclops' death, Xavier's death, Rogue's curing, but somebody had to stick it out and remain optimistic. And god damnit, these are the X-Men, these are MY X-Men! Scott wouldn't give up on Jean, and I damn well ain't giving up on my X-Men!

Well, some harsh beatings we were served for sticking through it. The "lies" from the writers hurting the most, after they filled us with optimism.

Some took the reality of the situation, and embraced it, and enjoyed what we got. For others, it was too much to handle. But whatever side of the fence you're on, for all of us, it was a journey. We stuck through this together. We all have the same goals in mind, and we all stuck it out until the very end.

And it's hard to believe that the "very end" has finally come to pass. There was a time when May 26th, 2006 was an eternity away. And now May 26th is in the not too distant past. There was a time when it felt like the world would blow up before October 3rd, 2006 arrived. And now that day is upon us.

We can never watch X2, and feel anticipation for that ending again. There's no more "Holy crap, I can't wait to see what they are gonna do next!" No more "I wonder what will happen with Pyro". No more "I can't wait to see Phoenix!"

You know, I've seen the arguement (and I've been a part of it) that "it's just a movie, get over it"... and while there is some truth behind that, the other truth is that no movie, EVER, has meant as much to me as these 3 movies. Sure, as much as I love X-Men (and I damn well do, the X-Men universe is my favorite fictional universe, these being my favorite fictional characters), there are better movies out there. But damnit, none of them mean as much to me as these movies.

And you know what? I've had a DAMNED good time sharing that passion with you all. We may not all always agree, and we may not even all always get along... but damnit it's been fun agreeing and disagreeing, debating, and sharing with you all. And fighting in the trenches with you all.

The past year and a half has been a crazy one, and I'm glad I was able to share it with you all. And as long as that passion, and fire, is still there, then I'm going to enjoy the rest of my time here with you all as well.

For :cyclops: , for :wolverine , and for EVERYTHING :xmen:

dude, you seriously need to get a life...

i remember the first time i watched the teaser trailer...the first time i saw Storm flying...i had huge headphones on my ears, and i played it for about 30 minutes straight...oh the memories...Jean walking with magneto, the bridge, Cyclops screaming (by then i didnt know about the script)...

I came here late...didn't know an x3 was coming out...when i saw the teaser...i was like..hmm...and then when Jean showed up...I was like...Phoenix...cause I knew Jean would be bad in this one but the dark side part of Jean is what drew me back into the X-World...and yeah...I was hoping that Cykes would have a bigger role but no, I was wrong.

I joined these boards about the spring before X2 came out, and while I don't really remember the hype surrounding that movie, I recall debating good and bad topics after it was released. I had a blast!

Real life intervened and I was away from SHH for a couple years, but when I came back it was around June 2005, just when X3 started making news about the departure of Vaughn and shooting in San Francisco for teaser footage. You sit there and start thinking "How in the HELL am I gonna survive until next MAY?! I'll die before then!"

But soon enough, set pics started arriving, casting news, little bits of information, etc. (courtesy of Retroman, of course), and inevitably controversies arise. Anybody remember Ricky Hoggard? Lol!!!

The point is that I've never met a more dedicated group of fans than us X-Fans. We waited on the edge of our seats for every little bit of information about the movies and the characters we love. There were the optimists telling everybody that this was going to be the most incredible movie you've ever seen. There were the pessimists (arguably the realists) telling everybody that yes, Cyclops was toast, and yes, the Sentinels were going to be in one scene, and the movie was going to suck regardless.

Well, we're here now at the end of this era in the franchise's history. I think we can all agree on one thing: as long as they keep making movies with our beloved characters, we'll be flocking to these boards in droves to share our mutual excitement and/or concerns.

We are the people that they make these movies for. (Okay, maybe not the people Brett Ratner makes movies for, but still :p:D)

I look forward to seeing you all prior to X4!!!

There were the optimists telling everybody that this was going to be the most incredible movie you've ever seen.

i was a part of those *weeps*

The most heartbreaking part of the whole thing was telling people not to get their hopes up, knowing that they were just setting themselves up for disappointment.

Ah well. Bring on FF2!

I joined the boards in 2004 but never really came on and posted. After a break, I came back and was part of the Fantastic Four hype before that came out. I posted a bit but was never involved a lot. After it was released I started coming on the X3 boards and soon I was addicted lol.

I must say, it has been a great experience debating every little detail. Remember the illeged picture of Cyclops in Cameron Bright's blurry photo? Surely he would be in the final act everyone thought!

I remember being at college when the trailer came out and I had no speakers so I couldn't hear what was going on. Then when I came home I put it on straight away and watched it about 5 times in a row.

The worst times for me were when the negative reviews started coming in and when everyone found out what happened in the film. However, it did lead to me going to X3 with my expectations down a bit and making me enjoy it more. :p

To be honest, part of me doesn't want to be part of a hype for a movie again and yet part of me really wants to. I'm sure if X4 ever does get announced, I will definitely find it hard to stay away from here. :D

what i remember the most is the graves of Scott and Jean. God, eveerybody laughed and said "that is so fake, they're simply photoshoped!" Nobody believed it could ever be true. I admit, my biggest surprise in the entire movie was when i saw them. I had to laugh out loud.

Seeing those graves killed the ending for me, because I was adamant that that photo was fake. And it still looks fake even in the movie, so whatever. But man...ugh.
