I almost don't know what to say to add to this thread.
The memories that stick with me the most are the ones
where I'd think "Gambit's gonna be in the movie!" and have a huge
smile on my face just because of that.
Then things tapered off and I wasn't so disappointed, but it wasn't
fun, I'll tell you that.
I mean, come on, I'd been waiting for the character since X2 and
me and everyone else got bunk! Total fan-disservice, that's what it is.
However, in the theater, the sheer awesomeness of seeing Shadowcat
come alive on the big screen in live action with a good size role
was almost as big a thrill for me. Just recently coming to fully
appreciate and be a fan of her, it was nice to not have to
beg for her appearance. She was simply there and it was
satisfactory.
Going back to the memories of way back when, the anticipation
was great. I didn't get to keep up with the movie as much as I would've
liked, but checking X-Men films dot net every so often and going to
forums and stuff helped keep the excitement (X-citement ?) going strong!
Sometimes I feel like X-Men fans are in a class of our own.
Not as obessive as some other fans, it seems like many of
us have our feet on the ground most of the time.
(IE to my knowledge, we didn't ask to make something from
it an actual religion. I'm dead serious on that one:
Some Star Wars fans wanted to have, like, Jedi-ism or something.
Heared about it on TV aways back.) So, that's good.
I'm probably all wrong, but now it sounds good to me.
I'm debating wether I'd like to see a fourth movie be made or not.
On the one hand, according to rumors, Gambit would be center stage.
I'd only want to see that happen if the movie were of better quality
and writing then the third, among other things.
