My doubts have officially been laid to rest

Callisto doesn't look more like either of them...

Honestly, despite her pale skin, Callisto's background (as in nationality and ethnicity) has never been explicitly discovered as far as I know...

Only in terms of body shape is Mota closer to the original look of Callisto, but that's it...even Callisto's looks have changed over the years as much as Storm's, Wolverine's, and even Rogue's..

Some of you may remember my "I'm skeptical" thread. Well, I got over it last night & now I'm as psyched as I was for the first two.:cyclops: :wolverine :xmen:

still over it

None Of That Bothers Me; No Movie Has Ever Followed The Comics 100%, No Movie Ever Will And I Don't Think I Want It To. As Long As It's Not Goofy Like Batman & Robin Or As Far-removed As Cino, I Can Live With Changes.
Actually, Sin City was 100% accurate, but that movie sucked in my opinion. It LOOKED very cool, but the story was more about gore and about as deep as a kiddie pool. however, if you liked that movie, you'll probably like X3. Have you seen it yet now?

I did enjoy both Sin City and X3. Your tastes & mine must be miles apart.

sorry i meant "still over it?"

like the movie sucked... and you thought it would be cool... and you were over your bad feelings. Seeing this film not bring them all back?

I dont think that a movie that is adapted from a comic or book is ever going to be 100% accurate, and it truth it really shouldnt be. Pete Jackson didnt put everythign Tolkien had written and put it on screen. LIke Ohh they didnt say that Xavier and Juggs were stepbrothers or half brothers... big deal!!! Do you really need that, exactly where would that have fit into the film?

The movie was good. I actually never doubted it would be. It may not have been the end all, be all on the story end but it was still a good film.

You touched on an argument that I've been raising for the last 5 years; we do it to ourselves, folks. Comic fans in general want so badly to see their beloved characters on film, the way they see them every Wednesday. They become so devoted to this vision, they create their own movies in their heads, with their own cast, their own plot & get to the point where they can't accept anything else. The result-more often than not, a genuinely good film that gets bashed simply because it wasn't what you had in mind. You ruined your own enjoyment before the opening credits.
Now I'm not saying that all comic movies are great-certainly "Blade: Trinity" & "Elektra" weren't masterpieces-but a lot of them are. X3, in my opinion, was as well.

True and im not saying that people have to enjoy the movie because I did. No everyone has there own opinion, but its the nitpicking, its the "oh this character isnt exactly this or this character isnt exaclty that" that is really getting to me. I get that characters like Rogue and Cyclops are beloved characters and should be portrayed well, but Rogue, for example even from the first X-men movie was never set up to be this really kick a** mutant. To me she was a representation of the down side of being a mutant, she never really wanted her powers, becuase having her powers would mean that she might have to forgo physical contact for the rest of her life. And it the picking at stuff like that, that is so jarring to me.

She represents the downside of being a mutant. That's the best description I've heard of her character. I think the biggest problem-the reason why we have so much complaining-is that there are many sides to these characters & in order to play up what some people think are the most important aspects, sometimes you must downplay or even ignore what other people like about the characters. To me, it's not so much about being superheroes where the X-Men are concerned. It's about uniting for a cause & just trying to survive.

Exactly. Like I said I understand that these characters are important, but if a director is making a movie "based on" not copied exactly from the characters of a work created by someone else then you cant focus on every single aspect about one character, especially when you have twelve other characters to introduce.

I absolutely loved the movie. Just as much as X2. :) Couldn't be more happy with it.

I didn't expect a comic book experience...that would be an 8 hour movie.

Rogue represents the other side of the cure... All mutants aren't going to feel the same way about it...

But maybe it didn't work, maybe she'll permanently absorb the powers of the mutant she next touches... though I cannot imagine her flying around punching through skyscrapers...
