My Issue with "New Goblin"

Don't forget though, the serum made Norman crazy. In time,Harry would've become the same way, only he would've been encouraged by his father's ghost. At first,it might have been to kill Peter, but after that, who knows?

^He's not Batman. He wants to kill Pete. End of story. Norman wanted to take over the City. Harry didn't. Harry was personal. Once he would've killed Pete, he'd of retired from being this "New Goblin", unless Norman thought otherwise. But they're both dead. So...yeah.
No, he's not batman, he's the new Goblin, and goblins wear Gonlin masks.

Harry wore the Goblin costume in the comics because the writers wanted him to be the Green Goblin and were too lazy to make a new design for him, whereas for the movie they decided that if they had 300 million dollars they may as well redesign the costume to show Harry isn't Norman.

I like the new costume, but a mask that had something to do with goblins would have been nice.

I kind of wish they had gone with that "bastard child of a HALO soldier and Iron Man" design for Harry from the "Spider-Man 3 Chronicles" book.

I think this movie would've been so much better if Sandman wouldve been left out.

Just Harry and Venom.

I would have rather they left Venom out. He was pointless. Just eye candy for the last fight scene.

I agree that Harry's Goblin time was rushed.

Spidey 3 should have been just Harry, there's more than enough material to flesh out a full movie.

I am glad they actually gave Sandman some backstory. I think THC(If given a better script, more time, etc) would've been better than Molina.

Rushed? No, not at all...I completely disagree...

Why?

In my opinion it was. I wanted to see the progression once he discovered the Goblin stuff. How long has he been getting ready for this? How tough was it to finally give himself over to revenge?

It'd be really cool to see an entire 2 hour movie showing how Harry interacts with Peter all the while readying himself to kill him.

Many people, boths fans and the general audience, would be very disapointed if Harry was the only villain.

Yes, another solo Goblin villain would be a big mistake. Fans and the general audience wanted to see a new brand of villain.

Harry on his own would not draw in big numbers.

so true. it be like spiderman one to many. to me id like harry and sandman. leave the symbiote for its own movie

I agree with leaving out the symbiote from this, but the only problem with doing a movie about Peter's darker side without the symbiote would be that by the time they had gotten a director who wanted to do the symbiote story there'd be no point. A movie about Peter dealing with his inner darkness would've already been done and it would've been done without having to use alien goo as a plot device so the main potency of the symbiote saga would be rendered ineffective as it had alrady been done and in a more dramatic way.

And yes, even the X-Men movies couldn't get away with having the same villain more than once as the supreme baddie. Magneto was in all three movies but he was only the big bad in X1. X2 was Stryker and X3 was a whole mutant uprising that Magneto was only a part of, not the main baddy.

Gold is an element. It's also metal. Only flesh and cotton (assuming as much) were broken down into sand. Both are bio materials. Just a thought.

I know that this took a really long time for me to reply to, but it was because i had to check something. In the movie, sandman's metal belt buckle turns to sand, yet penny's locket doesnt.

Stupid convenient scientific loopholes.

I don't think so: Flint landed straight in the middle of where the giant beater was, so it's possible that the locket was at the very edge of the pit, and therefore didn't get affected.

If thats the case, how did it end up in the middle after it was over?

Survey Says....Plot Hole :hyper:

That means that it should have turned to sand as well, because at that point, sandman had yet to be molecularized.

Maybe it flew out of Flint's hand or whatever when he tried to escape and got whacked back!!
Sure that explains how it could have got to the edge of the sand pit, but it wouldnt explain how it got back to the middle.
