I wonder if he was mad out of concern for her safety when she went out and didn't call that she'll be late? Or was he mad because he just wants to keep tabs on her, to know her every move... where she goes, who she's with...etc... afraid that she's out cheating on him? If the reason is the latter, he really needs to sort himself out first before he hurts another girl.
