MY THEORY. The GG2 costume in the trailer is a fake-out move!

Do you really think they'd go through all the trouble to fake us out and give Harry a new mask? They even went through the trouble in making a short documentary, and releasing the mask pictures (which i can't load but the MTV pics) and all that effort to make a mask and all that just to fake us out? I would highly doubt it...but you never know.

What i think is going to happen is he going to wear the suit we see in the trailer for the most part. And after he gets his face blown away with the ball I think he will return in his fathers costume a little more modified for the battle royale because his face will be disfigured and then it gives it a reason to use his fathers mask

That actually sounds really good, I like that idea. It would make sense and be a suprise at the same time.

After his face is disfigured he most likely wears the sky mask. You see he is enacting revenge on Peter, so he really doesn't care if Peter sees his face or not, in fact he more than likely wants Peter to see him.

Yeah, I'm sure they went through all the trouble of building the suit, the mask in three different versions (solid mask for close-ups, soft mask for stunt work, retractable mask) just to fake us out. Sorry, dude, but I'm sure you are WAY off on this theory.

Whenever I see the costume I think of that kid from that Fishboy movie

People are taking this disfigured thing waaaay too far. It's not going to happen!

Why are people being so dumb?

There is no Green Goblin in this movie. Period.

Considering the scope of this movie and all the things that need to be done there is neither the time nor the plausibility of Harry becoming a full-fledged Goblin. It just wouldn't make sense. Raimi said this himself.

He's just Harry. That's all. Sam Raimi and the production team are fairly intelligent not to dress up a character as a 'Goblin' who doesn't act like one. With Sandman, Eddie, and the black suit would anyone really want to see a repeat of Spider-Man 1's Defoe with Harry?

I was shocked at the negative reaction to the costume. Sure it might not work as a 'Goblin' costume, but it's a million times better than the one in Spider-Man 1. The worst costume for any supervillain ever and they only designed it that way so they could make a toy out of it easily.

The production has done something unique with Harry and they should be commended.

^Doesn't act like a Goblin? He is flying around on a glider, and throwing pumpkin bombs. Not enough time, nor plausibility?Just have him wear a Goblin mask for the action scenes that he wears that paintball mask. How wouldn't that make any sense? What doesn't make sense is that Raimi wouldn't do this.

and this pic makes no 10 times more sense :woot:

The obvious difference between the Spidey 1 trailer and what's happening here is that for pure recognition purposes, they used the Spidey suit rather than the wrestling suit. Also, there was a joke connected to the wrestling suit. When revealed, we were expecting Peter to wear the spidey suit, since that's what we'd seen him designing. So seeing the wrestling suit for the first time made for a laugh.

But there's no reason to hide a Goblin suit, since the first Goblin had already been established in the first film.

No time? Plausibility?

I dont know if you noticed but...the entire first two movies were GROOMING Harry for this.

Did you watch the end of Spidey 2? The whole hallucinations?

By Spidey 3 Harry is in the PERFECT place to assume the mantle - and guess what, he does! He dons a costume, rides a glider and hurls pumpkin bombs...only, according to Raimi he's not going to be the Goblin. Instead he's a paintballing ninja.

We have yet to hear of a plausible reason WHY Harry is not the Goblin other than simply because Raimi doesnt want him to be it...even though he has Harry ACTING like the goblin!

I fail to see why these people should be commended - congrats! They gave Harry a suit that any 15 year old fanboy could produce.

I said it once and I'll say it again - it takes l33t skillz to **** up the same character design twice. Lets commend Raimi on that.
