Sequels Mysterio's Look

And besides its an homage to the very first villain that ever graced Amazing Spiderman #1.

So, a mix of the later Chameleon with the Parker robots and the cartoon version?

I'd prefer Mysterio.
Robots? No not quite. Tied to his parents as in working for an agency of some sort. We don't have to follow the pages of a comic or cartoon plot for plot here.

He may be the first, but certainly not the best.

Mysterio, in my eyes, is a very underrated villain. It is a shame he is best known for being part of a six man group and a DD story.

I think he can be very impressive. Give a good story and effects that could exceed those of the Sandman in SM3. Potentially of course, and the director would have to be one that can take him seriously.

I made the robot comment because it had to do with his parents. Not saying they should EVER do that.

I don't disagree with you here. I love all his classics that showed up in Spidey's first twenty issues. Including Mysterio. I just have a hard time seeing how you adapt him in a major story. Altering backgrounds and hallucinogens and what not. It just seem like if the whole point of going with the insane approach and mind games why not Chameleon. Niether villain is going to give you any outstanding action scenes as they wouldn't be in a movie alone. There would be other villains that provide the action and fight scenes. They are strictly for story purpose.

Understood. The whole thing would have to do with perhaps the formula or some sort of machine/device the government is after. Maybe an experiment that creates another villain. Scorpion or Electro perhaps.

But his illusions cloud his Spider-Sense, so a scene in all the smoke with Mysterio randomly coming out and hitting Spider-Man could be freaky and great. I think the altering images and hallucination would make the insane angle more interesting than Chameleon.

Chameleon is certainly cheaper, but not as cool. He holds a special place in the comics, and that should be acknowledged, but I think Mysterio does this angle better.

As someone else said (forgot where) Scorpion could accompany Mysterio well, and Scorpion wouldn't be that expensive to use.

Exactly. Mysterio is cheesy, but he is supposed to be. It is part of his charm. That is why Bruce Campbell is perfect for the role. Who better than the King of Cheese!

No way! Mysterio is not cheesy! It depends how you do the movie, I would do something a la " Illusionist" or " the prestige"

Actually I have a script: The opera where Mary Jane use to play is not making money anymore. They were about to close when a guy named Quentin Beck desperately ask the manager to give him a chance to show his talent! In closed doors the manger was very impressed by his illusions and decide to give him a few weeks. A few weeks later the opera is getting better, Quentin Beck who is now known as Mysterio is the man of the hour. Mary jane Who s still working as a waitress have enough end wants to do something else. Late in the night She went back in the opera where she remember all her good moments. But she bump into Mysterio who was on is way out! Mysterio find Mary Jane really cute ask her if she wants to work as a helper during his show. MJ likes the opera and accept the offer. Happy she call Peter to tell him the news. One day on her day off, MJ went on to the opera just to chill when she interrupted Mysterio doing something horrible in his secret room. Since than Peter never heard of MJ.

Peter is desperately looking for MJ when in the Daily Bugle they annonce that the manager of the opera disappear mysteriously. Than peter made the connection with MJ and started investigate Mysterio place.......THAT S IT I DONT KNOW THE REST!:woot: ( I hope you understand my English)

I love Mysterio, but he is cheesy. That is not a bad thing though, it is just a part of him. I think he could work quite wel in a movie, but at the same time the fishbowl just screams jokes.

I remember that once a long time ago, someone had the idea of Mysterio looking like a stereotypical 1930's movie villain while keeping the fishbowl where a digitally blurred face would be visible. I've always liked that concept and wouldn't mind if they took a similar approach.

I always found the character of Mysterio interesting and worth even a small shot in the films. I occasionally like to tackle a realistic concept of a character, especially the far-out ones. I'm thinking of doing a Mysterio pic just to see how the character could work on film.

Anyone have any suggestions for the costume? ie textures, colors, etc.

It should be bright and shiny, like the coat Bruce Campbell wore in the first spidey movie. He's all about show business.

I think Mysterio's costume could work onscreen better than people think. I think, in the context of the movie, he might start off cheesier, but when he is foiled easily by Spider-Man, he comes back with more menace and a better idea of how to actually be dangerous.

Hugo Weaving did a very good job in Vendetta for is voice act so I m choosing him again to do the voice of Mysterio!

I love Hugo Weaving, but it'll be distracting if he's EVERYONE'S voice (since he's already done V and is doing Transformers, for example). The voice should probably be an altered version of whoever the actor is.

i like the idea of mysterio's face being covered by a column of gas just like it was when he was fighting against ben parker.

As far as the cheesiness factor goes, I kinda see it like I would the Joker. He looks goofy at first glance, but that goofiness represents something: evil. As a result, a guy in clown makeup suddenly becomes creepy and intimidating in the minds of the viewers, not silly and ridiculous. All it needs is establishing the fact that Mysterio is in fact evil - have him do something truly twisted or brutal in the opening introduction to the character - and the audience will be convinced, don't you worry. :word:

For instance, for whatever reason that's constructed in the movie, have him sabotage Captain Stacy or Aunt May's funeral...have him "re-animate" the corpse as it were, or make everyone think that the funeral home/church is haunted with holographic zombies everywhere, while obliterating things left and right with trap mines.

You know, just make him a viable threat, one that may even be considered scary at times. Then the fishbowl is viewed quickly as a menace, not as a reason for a joke (all the time, anyway).

I was thinking a very glitzy victorian suit, with the cloak over it.
