I know I am!

I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to guess due to my user name, but I'm working on a Green Goblin costume. I'm planning on sort of a mix of his classic costume and his Thunderbolts variation.

So far, the biggest challenge has been the mask. I don't want to go with face paint, since I might be outside a lot, and if it rains or something, I'd be screwed. Plus, it makes me itch like crazy, so I'd probably scratch half of it off in no time. I'm thinking either a rubber mask, which might look hokey but is a classic part of the Goblin, or a more rigid mask, kind of like (dare I say it...) the one in the movie... only less shiny and huge. Think something along the lines of those carved tribal masks. Any tips or suggestions?

Anyway, what are your Halloween plans, folks?

I don't think so this year, unfortunately. I'd been eying up that one expensive looking Spidey costume on some costume sites. But that's the problem, it's too expensive. :oldrazz:

I've actually been wanting to make a Green Goblin costume pretty much just like what you were describing. I've never really done anything up to that caliber so I don't know where to begin. I hope to get around to it eventually, though.

Would this be the costume you're talking about? http://www.halloweencostumes.org/teen-authentic-spiderman-costume.html

If so, yeah, I've had my eye on that before too.

As for my Goblin costume, it probably won't turn out super-professional looking, but I do plan on doing a fair bit of sewing. Some parts will just be adapted from other pieces of clothing, though. Don't let the idea that it might not end up perfect keep you from going for it, you could still end up with something awesome in the end.

I'm actually looking for Noir style flight goggles.... no such luck. :(

I'll be dressed as Swiss Miss.

lol, don't get me started on that travesty. As if I needed another reason to hate U2...

Little update, if anyone is interested:

I've assembled several pieces of the costume so far. Other than the gloves, pretty much the entire upper body is done (although knowing me, I'll probably tweak it at some point)

I got a great mask for less than ten bucks at Walmart, and other than not being green, it's just about perfect. I picked up some paint, and an additive that's supposed to make the paint more flexible when it dries in the hope that it will stay on the rubber mask.

I'll probably post some pics when I'm closer to completion.

Some co-workers are trying to get me to go as Spidey. If I can squeeze out the cash I might.

Actually yes.
