Buy the trade then. I am really not a Dr. Strange fan but I am a fan of BKV and his mini so far is excellent. He gets him right and yet doesn't make him infallible or uses magic as a dues ex machina. Vaughan embraces everything and sort of shows what a parody other writers make of Strange's character. Definately give OATH a read when the trade hits. Even if Vaughan's last few issues stink, it'll still have been the best Strange story in years.ihateusernames said:really? i'm waiting for the trade, my new job dosn't pay aswel as my old one so i had to cut down a bit on the books.
the Doc's probably one of my fav marvel heroes.
Agreed on all points. Firstly, Atlantis has got to stop looking like Midtown underwater and a writer/artist team have to imagine a culture of people who are powerful swimmers who live underwater and whatnot. It has to capture that mix of ancient and yet modern, and wouldn't be designed the same as us land-lubbers who can't swim up a few fathoms. What I always felt you needed was someone who could create a "world" for Namor to live in. Atlantis should be presented along the lines of Asgard, with all kinds of underwater places to discover. A year or so ago, when we were speculating what Neil Gaiman's project might be, I suggested that I'd like to see him take a stab at either this or Dr. Strange.
With what I wrote above, I might consider throwing Oeming's hat into the ring, or (if this is a publisher-independent wish list) considering what he does on Conan, Busiek would be a great choice.
Because he has had his own title only sporadically? He spends most of his time as a supporting character on Fantastic Four and The Avengers. Besides, being first, or near first, confers nothing. Of Marvel's Golden Agers, only Cap has proven really enduring (and even then, he's never been a huge character, sales-wise).How could you say that about one of Marvel's first heroes to ever appear in a comic? Let alone the very first mutant to every be published.
He's Marvel's first and mightiest mutant. The wings on his ankles are actually a result of him being homo-superior.What's the deal with that? Namor's not actually Homo Superior, like the X-Men, right? Just a "mutation" in regards to being a product of two different species.
Me too! The Illuminati (one shot and in the mini) has Namor being a 100% badass. That's the way he needs to be written in this series.I agree with the idea of Brubaker writing. That would be excellent. Though, I do like the way Bendis writes Namor.
What's Busiek up to these days, since he quit Conan?
And he'll be dropping Aquaman to focus on some new super secret project for DC.Aquaman and Superman. Both are kicking ass.
Good call.![]()
Bru's version of Namor in the Winter Soldier Special was excellent!
Aquaman is hardly kicking ass.
It's a mess.
