I agree he looks more like Namor. But do Universal still have the rights as of now? I thought the most recent development is that they are back at Marvel.
I think this guy would make a great Namor,
He's Daniel Henney he played Agent Zero in Wolverine: Origins

I guess he could work but i don't see marvel casting an Asian. I would welcome this casting but the studio isn't going to do it. An Asian lead may be even harder then a black lead for a big budget superhero movie.
The most recent statement from Feige I can find is the one in the article linked at the top of the page. Its at Marvel, but there are 'complications' and its not 100% a Marvel property like Iron Man. I'm guessing Universal has distribution rights or a cut of the gross or something like that.
If the film is good it shouldn't matter.
Have you seen what Namor looks like.I guess he could work but i don't see marvel casting an Asian. I would welcome this casting but the studio isn't going to do it. An Asian lead may be even harder then a black lead for a big budget superhero movie.

As an Asian American myself, I don't care for Asian leads. For me, I watch films that have Asian settings to see if Asian culture is respected. For me it's all about Asian culture and how it's portrayed in the movies rather then watching a film with an Asian lead.
Hollywood has done a fantastic job of portraying Asia in their films in the last decade.
So, obviously there has been no news on Namor in quite some time, but I'd still love to see him appear.
How would you guys feel if he was streamlined with the Inhumans at some point in the future? Maybe as a replacement for Triton, or even as Triton's son...?
I'm not saying i want that to happen (let the record show!), I'm just throwing it out there as an idea of one way to bring him into the MCU without creating a lot of redundancies (i.e. another hidden civilization on earth!)

I like the idea. For me, it's far less about what culture the guy is from and more about visual differentiation. Having so many dark haired white male witty heroes or blonde haired white male beefy heroes is so boring. I'd welcome an asian or pacific islander aesthetic for Namor.
Its also why i'd have loved Pedro Pascal or Oscar Isaac's aesthetic for Stephen Strange.

Definitely don't want that. First of all, because I'd want Triton in the Inhumans - he's one of the more colourful ones. And second, because I want Namor to be his own person separate from the Inhumans where he is the Prince of Atlantis.
Jason Momoa seemed like the more logical choice for Namor than Aquaman. Maybe they need to make Namor blond now in light of this.![]()
