Namor the Sub-Mariner

I think I could settle to a Marvel Studios' Special Presentation: Namor. But 1 hour longer than Werewolf by Night and promote it heavily, so it would get plenty of buzz online.

The more I think about it, I prefer the straight to streaming films than a siX to nine episode series. It would be the same length as the Phase 1 to 4 movies, then there would be fewer filler scenes and the vfX could be more polished since its not 4 hours and a half of screentime.

It’s funny, that it’s not pronounced Neimor but Nah-morrrr

Would be good if he could get a full-on, high budget film. Looking really awesome in the marketing. Can’t wait to see him in WF.

Bill Everett: This guy's based on ancient civilizations, so he's Roman, but backwards.
Well looking at it another way, inverse of "Roman" (at the time of encounter by way of Columbus(Italian), was in fact the Carib and Mesoamericans. :cwink:

LOL that's pretty hokey, but charming obviously extraneous notion(clearly not part of the film). Though now I can't un-hear it that way.

Tiger Shark should be the villain!

what I don't get about the change to the backstory...

is that being now of Aztec heritage (supposedly somewhere off the coast of Mexico?) why would they be traveling all the way to Wakanda? or vice-versa

I guess I just don't know/understand enough about the story yet

Wakanda isn't even usually suggested to be near the coast line (more in land/ central Africa)

have these two Cultures clashed before? is there a history between the people? were they even aware of each other? outside of myth and legend

is Tlālōcān in this case an actual physical place you can travel, too? or is it more of a realm (like Asgard)? are they considered God like?

The movie explains how and why, but it's not satisfying or well done. These are my problems with the film. The conflict with Namor/Talokan makes no sense and is badly thought out and put together.

Also, Wakanda is literally smack dab in the middle of Africa. There's really no way they should be able to get into Wakanda.

I thought they did a decent job.

As far as Wakandas location...well, it seems like they did a bit of retconning

It's from Civil War.

Also, in Infinity War they literally put a vibranium shield over the city blocking out Thanos' forces at least temporarily.

They are a landlocked country, lakes, rivers, or no.

Based on the location of Wakanda the Talokanil would be able to more or less swim through the Mediterranean, enter the Nile delta, swim upstream through to the White Nile and pass through Western Wakanda that way, I guess? And use their technology to flood any parts that might be too shallow or has waterfalls :D. Might still be a bit far fetched to do that undetected, but hey the movie needs to happen somehow right? It's not like other Marvel movies don't completely ignore travel time and restrictions and such regularly when a character needs to go to some other part of the world.

There's no way they should've been able to get into the middle of the capital undetected when Wakanda KNEW they were coming and knew they were an underwater civilization. Not to mention, Wakanda has super-advanced vibranium shield technology and barriers.

I noticed that while Namor himself pronounced his name "Nah-mor" the Wakandans like Queen Ramonda pronounced it "Nay-mor". In this case I don't think there's a wrong way to pronounce it, it just depends on the accent.

I've always pronounced Nah-mor because of my accent, so I loved that in the movie.

I loved Namor in this and can't wait to see him in future projects.

Yeah, I'd love a solo movie. Or even a D+ show.

I don‘t see Namor getting a solo movie…
not after what he did to Ramonda.

Yeah... that was bad. I didn't like that.

It's going to be hard to redeem him.

But didn't Victoria Alonso talk something about him possibly getting a movie? I thought she did.

Scarlet Witch never killed someone BEFORE MoM
