Playstation [Naughty Dog] Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet

Far too many men/boys withdraw from the real world (become terminally online, shut-ins, NEETs, and incels) and make video games and pornography their identity and as a result this toxicity is what spills out of many of them. (see also: 🌎 - Discussion: Society and Politics)

I've never identified as a 'gamer' even though I've played video games longer than most have been alive since the early 1980s. Making your hobby your whole personality or some exclusive club/in-group that exists only in your head is just mentally unhealthy.

Twitter was completely insane over Sydney Sweeney for days and it shows how completely deranged incel men are.
Like, they called her fat based on pictures of her with what? 15% body fat...like, its just completely deranged behaviour.
And the dude who owns Twitter caters to these kind of people and most likely runs America behind the scenes.

7% of all games released on steam 2024 had Women...and Incels scream bloody murder of the industry.
7% is nothing, i expected 10% which still is too little...but 7 and 2% LGBT themed? We really need to find ways to restrict access to the internet to these incels.
It's not half the population; they're just a very vocal and very online minority.
Yeah, while there is a significant and depressing rise in incels and stuff...its still a very small minority that just is chronical online opposite to everyone else.
Most of us dont have time for Review bombing stuff or watch dozens of videos of grifters etc.
So it might seem like there are more of them, but not really...they just have more time and less hobbies than we.
We play this and that game, they sit around whine about it under dozens of youtube videos, tweets etc.

I just hope this is as good as Uncharted and The Last of Us, if not better. I would be disappointed if its gets a lukewarm reception like Starfield. Also, given their track record, I can't see them putting an effort to a new ip and not turn it to a new franchise with at least 3 games. So this could be the future of Naughty Dog and Sony's tentpole games, aside from TLOU3 - if things worked out.

Oh, that was made for the trailer? I was wondering what anime was that.

Starfield was actually well received by critics. If you want a better example, as far as exclusives go, Days Gone is one that got a lukewarm reception.

It just wasn't the critics though, I meant the general public.

Bend Studio, if I'm not mistaken, didn't really have a solid reputation compare to Naughty Dog and other beloved studios. I don't think people were that disappointed with that game.

Nothing wrong with a little intergalactic horror.

Eh. I think horror elements have been done to death in videogames. We already got those hundreds of stressful soulslike games in the last 5 years. There's also bunch of horror survival games since RER2 came out which I literally shouted when playing those. Naughty Dog already had their moment with jumpscare/scary moments with The Last of Us. Even the first Uncharted game had zombies (which I hated). I want to explore the environment this time, without feeling dread and so much stress, and just go out there with guns blazing. Guardians the game was set in space and I wasn't terrified at any moment and it was so much fun.

The marketing so far has lead with the big laser sword so I am pretty confident that combat will be the core of the experience. The mysterious location could make for some spooky stuff but I don't see this hitting TLOU levels of horror.

Its kinda taking me out when watching Last of Us, and I see the lead of this upcoming videogame in it. My mind quickly goes to Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

I wouldn't be surprised if HBO got the tv rights for this.

In hindsight, they should have also adapted the Uncharted games. That would have been more interesting than the movie from Sony.
