Horror 'The Last of Us' HBO Series

It will be interesting to see. For me the game did a great job of making me root less for Ellie as she did more and more things I found 'over the line' and by the time the switch happened I was on board with seeing the different perspective. What's interesting with the show is that they really turned down the bad things Ellie does yet a majority of the complaints about S2 seem to be people turning on Ellie, despite the fact her character in the show hasn't really done much bad stuff. So it will be interesting to see how people get on board with the perspective change.
I've come to terms with the criticism of S2, and to your point about Ellie having not done much bad staff, she doesn't do much at all to convince us of what she does do. She's a hard 19 in the game, having competently survived in her world, but I don't get that sense from the show. She's a lot more immature for her world than everyone surrounding her, less in control of herself, and without a suppressed simmering rage in the show, which is why those bad moments when she does lose control to her rage in the game are so shocking.

Since the second season only covered the first half of the second video game, what will the pacing and episode count be like for this next installment and beyond?

We’re kind of fiddling around with that — it’s a little bit of a trade secret at the moment. But I will say that season three will be longer than season two. Season three will be more on par with season one. More bang for the buck.

If season three is longer, they might as well just wrap up the rest of Part II then and there if the budget allows for it.

Abby's section was longer in the game from what I remember? I hope they don't cut out as many parts as they did Ellie's section.
I think it helps that her section of the second game is a lot more straightforward like the first game, which they were successfully able to adapt in the same amount of episodes as the third season will be, so they should be fine.

Let's hope so. Season 2 turned out to be a real disappointment.
