NBC's The New Normal

...this could be interesting. I hope it does well.

Well, it's NBC.

Watching the pilot on demand. Pretty good so far. The [blackout]Gwyneth Paltrow[/blackout] cameo caught me by surprise... though, considering who's behind the show, I guess I shouldn't have been.

I think I like it! Did anyone recognize Mary Cherry?

I thought I recognized her. I wasn't totally sure.

Good pilot. Murphy should really utilize Leslie Grossman (Mary Cherry) more since she is GREAT when it comes to comedy. Dont know why he hasnt put her to more use after Popular but is willing to bring NeNe into 2 of his shows.

"You people are so good with computers. And thanks for helping build the railroads."

Should I feel bad for laughing at that? :o

Murphy really brutal towards the Asians in his shows. They get the worst insults lol

Saw the pilot on Amazon. I liked it a lot. I'm a fan of Justin Bartha and I thought the guy who played his partner was great. Seems like Nana is the "Sue" of this show. She made some pretty funny insults.

Episode 102 Press Release:
The New Normal - Episode 1.02 - Sofa's Choice - Press Release

09/18/2012 (09:30PM - 10:00PM) (Tuesday) : MUST WE GO BACK TO GREY GARDENS? – Shania (Bebe Wood) is working to adapt to her new surroundings and, much to the delight of Bryan (Andrew Rannells), begins impersonating Little Edie from ‘Grey Gardens.’ Later, David (Justin Bartha) and Bryan reminisce about the first time they met and decide to have a night on the town like they did when they were younger. Elsewhere, Jane (Ellen Barkin) finds something disturbing in the boys’ room and enlists Goldie’s (Georgia King) ex-husband Clay (Jayson Blair) to try and woo her granddaughter back to Ohio. Elsewhere, Rocky (NeNe Leakes) mistakenly suspects Shania of misbehaving.
The Grey Gardens thing = :lmao:

I was watching some pilots of new shows through On Demand, so went ahead and checked out this show. Didn't expect a whole lot, but was pleasantly surprised. It had some good laughs, and Ellen Barkin's hard edge played well. I'll definitely tune in for awhile to see how it goes.

I believe the pilot officially airs tonight and episode 2 airs tomorrow, at the regular timeslot of 9:30.

It seems strange to me that NBC would advertise this as premiering tonight and yet air the pilot last night with little or no notice given.

Loved the pilot. This is definetely a show I will be watching

Am I the only one that thinks that Nana is the long lost sister of Lucille from Arrested Development?

That would be an amazing crossover. However, Nana just doesn't have the same level of class as Lucille.

I've been wanting a Nip/Tuck cross over with any of the shows Ryan Murphy is involved with. I can just imagine Nana visiting Christian Troy for some botox...and a little more :o

The Grey Gardens thing = :lmao:

Nana's reaction to the Obama pic = :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Also, Mac's mom from It's Always Sunny as the nurse was great.

Rannell was on Fallon and said the girl was already doing the Grey Gardens stuff before the show and Murphy put it in!

Will also be watching next week.

Anyone catch the little dig at Glee? Well, Glee's fandom.

Liked the 2nd episodee a lot more than the first.

Didnt catch the Glee dig, what was it?

But would love to see Sue cross over.
