With this coming out later this year and a first look in June I’ve decided it’s time to make a thread.

Super Crooks is a Netflix/Millarworld anime based on a 4 Issue comic by Mark Millar and Leinil Yu done by Bones. Inc that tells the story of Johnny Bolt as he leads a team of retired super-powered thieves through a heist in Spain.

It will be 13-30 minute episodes with 9 episodes of original material and new characters written and designed by Mark Millar and Leinil Yu working with Bones. Inc with the final four episodes based on the comic.

It also is set in the same universe as the recently released Netflix/Millarworld Jupiter’s Legacy. It’s a fun story. Think Oceans 11 only with Super Villains.

Ok I’ve read two reviews online and seen some YouTube reviews and they’ve all pretty much praise this. They say this show is more fun than Jupiter’s Legacy and some of the characters that appear in JL are better portrayed in Super Crooks. The villains are well-rounded and developed and the action is on point and rivals some MCU action scenes. So looking forward to this one.

Just finished episode 1 and it was pretty good. Shocking ending though with how it all played out.

I binged this and really enjoyed it. I think a lot of Millar’s comics would work better in anime form than live action.

I’ve only seen episode one and will watch the rest this weekend but that has to be the most horrific origin story I’ve seen in a minute possibly ever.

Binged this not too long ago and honestly I really enjoyed it aswell. I didn't know a thing about it going in either so finding out it was set in the same universe as Jupiter's Ascending was a nice surprise.

I really loved how different the animation was too compared to other superhero shows like My Hero or Invincible and the overall 70's gangster/heist vibe was a pretty cool and unique change of pace too.

So I knew absolutely nothing about this and found this due to Netflix's random play function and my word what a blast! Love the aesthetic, a banger of a theme tune.... just a lovely way to waste half an hour.

Literally WTF ? Why are people not talking about this. It has superheroes, supervillains, action, gore, drama, tons of irreverent humour.

I really enjoyed the graphic novel, but this is a great adaptation. It's not the best superhero drama ever, but it is great fun and a million times better than DC's awful adaptation of Superman: Red Son ( also by Millar) where they totally lost the spirit of the source material.
