Luckily Luke Cage arrived just in time.
Haha Im watching it right now
Just discovered Dylan Minnette (Clay) is frontman of a Indie Rock band called Wallows
Oh, umm... 'kay.
I thought the first season had a pretty interesting story but often frustrating style. The worst was that the tape about Clay wasn't played for so long, frustrating that he understandably or rightly gets angry at others without even knowing or considering what he did-and then when he does it's not really bad even though the others often thought he would be quiet about everything to protect himself. It was nice that the cast was diverse without them therefore being either idealized or particularly attacked (although I thought Ryan felt kind of thrown-in, just bad enough to be included as a victimizer/person blamed, not bad enough to get much negative focus, and the last episode felt a little both too tough on and too positive to the counselor). Also I'm pretty sure Hannah did tell Bryce stop early on so forced/frustrating that she answered the counselor that she didn't.
Season 2 had moments but it felt too much about both shock value and having pretty much all the cast members pretty much redeem themselves (aside from two or three characters still being bad and Clay being a lot worse than he used to be) which felt forced/excessive (fine that Sheri, Zach and somewhat Courtney do, I guess that Alex and Jessica do, all of them plus Justin (plus the kind of equivalent of Clay being worse) too much). The endless, often self-serving narration (which sometimes felt like it was part of the court testimony but more often didn't) was really annoying. It felt forced and weak that the mother now had the tapes and wanted to use the trial to tell Hannah's story and wanted to use the tapes in the trial but ultimately didn't just release the tapes in the trial or otherwise. And that Clay kept saying the same thing to Jessica expecting a different response and it finally worked.
Love that he's a little over a year away from 30 and Netflix is still like "Oh, a high school thing? Ross, get your ass over there!"
This... feels questionable.
When is season 3 coming out? Thought it would be out by now
Well that's certainly one way to get the audience back after a divisive second season...
13 Reasons Why Cluedo edition
It was professor plum in the pantry!
These kids need to go to college and never return to their hometowns.
They realized the only way to get viewers back after that trash fire of a second season was to kill Bryce.
He's 100% right. I still find it bizarre that anyone believes the show glamorizes or romanticizes suicide when 1.) the actual suicide/discovery scene was horrifying and 2.) Clay and Hannah's Mom both exemplify how suicide will absolutely wreck the people who love you.
Some people freak out and go all 'think of the children' when it comes to teens dealing with any real issues. Self harm and suicide are a particularly touchy subject.
Every few years there is a show about teens that has people claiming is a groundbreaking gritty look at the teen experience of today.
My So Called Life, Skins, 13 Reasons Why, Euphoria, ect
All these shows got praise and hate.
What’s the other show about the high school experience that he’s talking about?
Oh wait, I guess he means Euphoria?
Almost certainly Euphoria.
The third season is up.
I’ve only seen the first two episodes so far but I really do miss Katherine Langford already. Not really on board with the new girl just yet
Oh yeah, it is Kind of boring without her.
This girl narrating is annoying as hell. Like who the hell is this British chick snitching and ****.
Don't like this season's direction.
It seems all over the place, the color grading in present time resembles a Zack Snyder film and the new girl's accent and narration are quite annoying.
Without Katherine Langford it kind of feels... soulless.
Yeah I agree that this show just doesn't feel the same without Katherine Langford, but I'm still liking it so far. The new girl is ok, but I can understand why so many people aren't liking her.
I’ve no problem with the new girl. At least not in the way some people seem to. She’s just mad sus as you go along. I’m on episode 9 right now.
My feelings are pretty much “13 reasons why... these damn kids shouldn’t be cops, detectives, investigators, or therapists.”
