Netflix's ''Narcos''

Awesome. Despite the last season not being as good as the previous ones it was still really damn good. I am looking forward to seeing what they do with Pena and Luna here.

Kinda wish the narrator in season 1 didn't go into detail about who Kiki Camerana (Michael Pena's character) was, sort of spoils the current season for me

Pretty much since we know from Narcos about what happened to Kiki.

Episode 5 has guests from the original series Not saying who, but if you watched the original series, you will know.

Anybody finish watching Season 4 yet? I finished it Sunday and while I did enjoy it for the most part it has become even more apparent to me now that they will never top those first two seasons IMO. I liked Diego Luna as Miguel Felix, but he ain't no Pablo Escobar and this season just didn't feel as epic without that kind presence. Granted, I don't know much about the guy in real life and for all I know this could have been a very accurate representation of him, but for this show it was kind of lacking for me. I also really enjoyed Pena's work here and the more serious dramatic roles I see him in the more I want to see him doing more of these kinds of roles.

Season 04 was good but I agree with you it was nothing like the first two seasons and honestly I think they could've stretched Pablo's story out to 4 season and I feel like they just rushed through all of it.

I finished the latest season. I avoided looking into the background info of the main characters up until right before I started watching. I totally forgot that Kiki was mentioned in the previous seasons, so I was surprised to read that info.

I enjoyed it. It's not as crazy as the first two, but those characters aren't exactly like Pablo Escobar and his crew. They even take a moment to say how the Medellin cartel was different from Cali.

One thing that threw me was since I quickly glanced over the info, I was expecting the season to play out differently. Like I thought Kiki would be more involved with the Guadalajara cartel since he was undercover. Also, I thought Gallardo would be more involved in deciding to interrogate and torture Kiki.

The problem I had with season 4 was that I knew what was going to happen to Kiki at the end of the season.

If this comes back for another season, it'll be interesting to see how Diego Luna juggles this and the Cassian Andor series.

I like Michael Pena, but even when he was being tortured I couldn't take it seriously, as I always associate him with more light-hearted characters.

So, you didn’t have any knowledge of what happened to the people in the previous seasons while you watched them?

I’m sure whichever show goes into production second can easily figure out how to accommodate his schedule.

Outside of the Ant-Man films, I can’t really think of any of his work being that light-hearted. I feel like most of his work is serious/straight forward rather than comedic. So, it was easy for me to take it seriously.

I knew because it was mentioned by Steve Murphy in season two

Is this the first Spanish speaking project Pena has done without Gael Garcia Bernal?

Yeah, but I mean like when you watched the previous Narcos seasons, did you know that Pablo was going to die eventually?

I doubt it’s the first one. With how long they’ve been working, they’ve had to have done some work without one another.

That's my main problem with Narco's is that they rush through so much of the history and story you rarely see the whole picture. Part of the reason why I say Pablo's story really should be wrapping up this season or next.

I take it you never seen Observe and Report.

Before seeing Narcos, I chose not to look up what happened to him online and had assumed Pablo was serving a life sentence.

True, but I guess given the nature of things, there's a need to kinda rush since they don't know how long their show will last.

Nah, never seen Observe and Report. But, I've seen most of his other major films, which were more serious/straight forward.

Oh, ok. Well, he's just one of those famous people. So, I assumed it was common knowledge he was dead (and sorta immortalized in pop culture) and that the main thing was just how he was able to evade the cops for so long.

I thought this season was pretty great and definitely an improvement over the first season in every way, especially when it comes to the action. The sequence with the FBI raid with the helicopter on the village and then the inevitable standoff towards the end was all pretty epic IMO and unlike the last season it actually felt like Diego Luna really got into the role this time and damn is there some horrific stuff he does in this season. Scoot McNairy was a great addition for this season as well and I loved his scene on the rooftop with Pablo Acosta who honestly might be my favorite character out of this whole season. I found his entire arc to not only be the most interesting, but quite sad as well.
