So anyway, we all know Alan Wake is gonna rule the gaming world

Yeah, it will, because Remedy is too awesome of a developer to mess this one up, and with Microsoft's resources, they won't have to worry about money or extensive playtesting.

One thing that's practically guaranteed with this game is that it's going to have excellent writing and narration. And we desperately need some good gameplay footage. I heard there was a video of a tech demo of the game some time ago. Any links to a high res version?

It's worth a look despite the somewhat poor quality.

My God...with those effects, the atmosphere in Alan Wake would be the one to beat on next-gen platforms. And here I thought Gears of War looked amazing. And the lighting effects are just...wow! This game will be hands down the best horror/thriller yet. I mean, with that technology, walking around in the dark will just be a whole new experience.

We totally need a HD version of this.

Uhhhh what the **** is going on with this game? I figured it would be out by now.

It's probably a 2008 release. With only a few months left in this year, all of them being filled with a few large-scale Microsoft published games, Alan Wake needs to be finished AND released in a market that isn't overly saturated with GTA and Halo games. Hopefully it doesn't slip into 2009.

I agree Wake looks pretty,.but unless its bringing something new to the table with game play It'll end up the same old hat-Next gen visuals with old gen game play elements.I'll reserve judgment till theres more information.It could go either way,

I can't speak on the gameplay, but the concept behind the game is amazingly well thought-out and one of the most compelling I've heard from any game this generation.
