Ive been thinking that we may need a new team for MOS 2 because Snyder may not want to do both JL movies and Superman movies.Hell want to do other projects.

So on the off chance Snyder concentrates on JL movies and doesnt return for MOS 2-who should replace Snyder?

There are possibly a lot of people who could replace Snyder, but I don't see them making a decision for a while. The future directions of the DCverse depends on the success of BvS, and once they know their direction that will elucidate which directors might be good options.

I don't think Zack will want to do other things more than superheros, he might not mind it but he seems like he likes doing what he is doing.

If that list was true though and they just havent announced it yet theyll need a different director to make a 2018 date

Exactly.

If they were able to get him, JJ would be my choice if not Snyder.

Abrams will be a super choice for a Justice League.
For Supes alone, I'm not sure.

I do think that if Snyder sticks around, it'll only be for Justice League.

So if we do get more Superman solos, I'd want:

-Matt Reeves (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and a runner-up to direct MOS)

-Duncan Jones (Source Code, Warcraft, & another MOS runner-up).

-JJ Abrams, Brad Bird, Alfonso Cuaron, etc.

I'd want this movie to feel stylistically distinct from MOS, to not really be narratively tied to MOS, and wouldn't want "Man of Steel" in the title.

Hmmmmm.....well I can't see Snyder stepping away with the
cameras already rolling on B v S, but who knows ?

Great question though !

part of me says Guillermo del Toro....but I think he'd be more of a natural
choice for a Green Lantern film.

JJ Abrams seems like good choice for anything at the moment....but who knows what sort of contractual arrangements he has with Disney ?
The only thing is, that Abrams would probably want to start from
scratch, rather than do a sequel.

James Cameron, who does epic scale well, and also can take control of a sequel. Hmmm...

Man, I can't think of a current director who could set the right tone, yet have the right balance of action and character, and would still do
Superman justice.

If I can think of a suitable candidate, I 'll come back to this.

I don't have a suggestion at the moment, but I'll be happy to get a replacement. Snyder will have completed 3 DC movies by 2017. Time to give someone else their chance.

Comic book movies are possibly beneath Cuaron.

And why would Cameron do JL?

Be realistic guys.

I'd like Duncan Jones if not Snyder. Though, Jones is still my first choice for a Batman Beyond movie

If Warcraft is a hit then I can see WB going after Duncan Jones who would of had experience on a big production now

Brad Bird gets suggested for everything but come on... he's perfect for Superman.

Superman needs to get back in touch with that earnestness that's present in the Reeve films and in the Cap films. Brad Bird could nail that

I think there is a few good choices out there to do a follow up on Zynders take on supes.

But something I always wanted to see is a Ron Howard Superman film. I think he could've hit it out of the park but he isn't right for MOS2

Ideally I'd like Snyder to keep working on Superman after he's done with JLA. I want someone with Snyder's penchant for making MoS2 a slow burning epic, while still maintaining the intimacy. Like he's adapting ancient mythology, or making a David Lean movie.

Joseph Kosinski comes to mind, but he'd be perfect for Green Lantern. The Wachowskis I'd love to see go more cosmic, like a Hawkman/Adam Strange movie. Matt Reeves maybe? Andrew Stanton?

I agree with you completely, but unfortunately, I don't think WB is interested in that Superman anymore. It would clash with the "darker and grittier" image they're trying to cultivate for the DCU to counter Marvel's "brighter and funnier" image.

I say this as a Superman fan who's never really cared for the Reeve films at all, but...they need a little of that Reeve spirit back, imo.

that's such a shame. In the comics there has always been a balance between that badass gritty Superman and the earnest Reeve-like Superman. They can strike a balance in the movies too, it's not just one or the other.

To be honest, I love both of those aspects of Superman, but i prefer the earnest, kindhearted Superman, it makes the badass moments more powerful. They should tap into the badass side of Superman but only when he's pushed to his absolute limit, it just makes those badass moments much more rewarding
