I find it kinda odd that they would use a Gilmore girls reference as a clue, so I’d have to say i think its a slim possibility the Jared Padalecki is in it, and that he was the clue.
though, besides being alil young, I don't find him to be a bad actor( I like him in that "super natural" show. ), as for him as a casting pick, in batman depending on who he is playing, I guess, but I don't see it

he's not quite the right fit, age or looks wise. I can't think of what other characters would be in the movie that they would be casting him for. so I'll say he was not what they where talking about.
but, I got say I am spirised that every one is going on about this Jared Padalecki thing, and no one sad anything (on this thread anyway) about the Heath Ledger rumor as Joker. I would think all you guys would be up in arms about it.
