New info?

^^ I c what u are saying, but I do have one question. This new info stated that this landlord scene happens before the half way point inf the film. Okay, so lets assume that movie will be somewhere between 2 hours to 2 hours and a half. This means that at about an hour into the film, Peter will already have the symbiote, and will have become severely influenced by it, hence going a bit crazy on Mr. Ditcovich (sp.). I'm assuming that this is what causes him to go to the church (I read somewhere that after attacking an inocent or something he realizes the symbiote's bad ways). Therefore what happens for the next hour and a half or so lol????? Now this is all speculation, and in a related topic I'd just like to say, don't you think it'd kinda be weird seeing Peter turn into "Venom" for a sec at his landlord. Is it just me or, are you also wondering how that would look on screen lol? Don't you think Ditcovich would call the police or something??????

Exactly my point, how are they going to justify that on screen, I mean does he think 'Ahhh screw it that paker kid is weird so I figured he'd someday go all alien' I mean seriously no one in their right mind would carry on their normal life after their neighbour just turned into Venom.

I can see him pushing the landlord while angry and then going into the bathroom where Venom appears in the mirror, but I simply don't see how it could happen in front of the landlord.

^Peter realizes the symbiote is evil after he pushes down MJ. But my guess is that about 45 minutes into the film, after a battle with Harry in the alley and one with Sandman in the armored truck, Peter gets the symbiote. The next hour will be about his struggle with it and another battle with Sandman and his confrontation with Harry at his house. About the 1:40 mark, Peter looses it at the church and Venom is born. About 2:00 we see the final battle. My guess is that this movie is 2:15-2:20 long.

My guess he starts to transform and turns his head quick, too quick for Dikovitch to notice...but the audience sees the whole thing.

I guess it's possible but I really hope they go for the Venom in the mirror option, I think it would be cool just to see Peters reaction to seeing it.

Thanks for clearing that up. I kinda like the idea of how Peter begins to trnasform, he pushes Ditcovich away and runs into his room, then it kind stops, he looks at the symbiote, looks in the mirror and VENOM! BTW you'd think that it would take one attack on an an inocent to change Peter not two (landlord AND mj) but I guess the symbiote will be portrayed as being very influencial

I guess he figures he can deal with the first few incidents of anger, like when he pushes Brock into the picture, in my opinion I think he becomes so arrogant he thinks he can control it even after he does a few bad things.

The shock of seeing himself turn into Venom would probably be enough to make him see it's actually him that is being controlled and not the other way round.

It's in his class that Peter and Gwen Stacey (Bryce Dallas Howard, soon to reteam with Shyamalan) are first brought together. Later, he takes a look at Peter's black costume and this is when we see lots of his lizardy research material around the lab - not so much a set-up for part 4 as an injoke for the fans.
So does Peter come to Dr. Connors in order for him to take a look at it as Spider-man, or Peter Parker? If Peter come to him as himself, wouldn't Dr. Connors find out that he's Spider-man?

Well thats exaclty my point, if the Ditcovich thing happens before he pushes MJ, he will see that this monster is controlling, yet he goes on like nothing is wrong. Unless he decides to go to Connors, then he doesn't know what it is, and all the time of waiting lets the Symbiote continuously influence Pete. I really don't know??? I guess we'll have to wait until May 4th. :oldrazz:

lol agreed, I guess trying to figure it all out is pretty pointless as we don't even know exactly what happens and when it happens...

Well 12 weeks left... Thats really not a long time :D.

Honestly, I doubt that Raimi is going to dwell on this plot point. It's likely a simple idea of the Landlord having bullied Peter for so long, so Peter scares him, then maybe there'll be one or two more comic relief scenes of the landlord being nervous around Peter. The landlord scenes weren't serious in Spidey 2, so I don't see it being more here. I also doubt Ditkovich would call the cops or anything. What would he say? My tenant is an alien? The cops would laugh at him.

I would just like to thank Jesus that my last final for this semester is May 3rd. I am soo happy, time to go stand in line for the midnight showing with only Spider-Man on my brain.

True. But he could call the cops on Peter not paying rent. It is quite a serious matter as Peter is living there for free and does owe the landlord money. Legality issues can occur, court hearings, etc. etc. However, I don't think Ditcovich is smart enough for that lol. And even still, he would be like "Peter I'm suing you." And Pete would be like all....

well actualy mr. Dikovitch would be too afraid to call the cops lol. I think because Mr. Dikovitch was mean to peter he got what he deserved like you said. I mean peter had to pay this guy rent and he wouldn't stop bugging him about it. he is a landlord but that doesn't mean he's the boss of peter especially when peter has the symbiote.

I'm glad it's finally confirmed our first look at Venom is during the rent sequence. I've been theorizing that for some time now. I had a feeling they'd go for the Ultimate approach in that regards. I'm also glad to get some clarification on the Sandman- I was thinking how uncharacteristic it would be of the movie version to just blatantly attack Peter at Brock's behest. The alien symbiote being left to lurk of it's own accord sounds interesting, though I personally never want to see an Angelo Fortunato or his equivalent in a sequel. Still not warmed up to the Sandman, but I'm sure that the script will give him purpose for being in this film.

If this turns out to all be correct, it would just be gravy on the boat for me.

Intresting read, However I'm taken most of it in like a small grain of salt .

I personally think the tenant scene explains something vital to the movie version of Venom: the more the host allows the symbiote to infect it, the more it assumes the hybrid form we call 'Venom'. With Peter, provocation apparently causes him to lapse into the form. Perhaps to the point that his teeth sharpen like in the Brock SDCC wallpaper, perhaps to the point where he actually gets the cowl. But either way, it sort of shows that the appearance of a fanged host is not just something Brock-exclusive in the films. It may just be that Brock doesn't have the moral restraint needed to impede it from taking over completely like Peter does.

^All of the above is me musing aloud, as a disclaimer. I'm not stating 'facts'.

Symbiote runs away, doesnt mean it has to return, brock is said here to be dead but maybe they'll jail him instead. all in all venom is ok but i hope they dont include carnage somewhere down the road.

I read carnage will be set up at the end when brock DOESN'T die and he is imprisoned in ravencroft.

That's fan speculation. I have at least 3 script leaks I've come to trust (that's including this one) that state Brock dies, leaving the symbiote to find a new host. The only thing that has only been stated once is Connors examining a piece, and that could easily be an after-credit teaser. But to state- I've yet to hear a leak that claims Brock sees an SM4 or that Cletus is once seen in the whole film.

When does Venom first rear his ugly head?

The symbiote is hanging around Central Park, but as for Venom, the recognisbale alien face with all the scary, jagged teeth? Believe it or not, Venom first rears his ugly head when Peter and his Russian landlord get into an argument about rent. That poor Russian guy.
Ohhh, I hope that's in the movie:woot:

I don't like what I hear about Brock....

Ditto. What would be the purpose of Eddies death? With Doc Ock, he needed to redeem himself before letting himself turn into a complete 'monster'. Norman needed to pay for his sins.

But with Eddie, the symbiote is in complete control of him. Sure Eddie has the hate and rage for Peter because he got him fired but is that really something that warrants death? Brock is in the wrong place at the wrong time and I just don't feel killing him has much warrant.

shouldn't you be revising?

I doubt that, spider-man related topics will show up in your exam paper :o

Well at least if Brock HAS to die, please dont make him say sorry to Peter before he dies or something.
