New Joss Whedon Buffy Spin-Off confirmed!

Besides, this wouldn't be based off on just one episode. It'd be based off on, oh, just about every bit of character development Giles has undergone since the beginning of season two.

Yeah, there have been loads of references to Giles' less-than-PG past, right up to this very week's issue of Buffy season 8.

What a horrible scene to make an avatar out of, you cruel, cruel bastard. :(

ha, and I didn't hear a peep about the Xander eye-gouging avvy.:o

Well, he didn't die from it. Plus, it's just Xander. But Fred... poor, sweet Fred. And right after she and Wesley were all happy and stuff. :(

well at least she got to spend her final moments with him...albeit while her organs were being broiled.:csad:

****ing Whedon:csad:

Hopefully it'll air on BBC America as well. It'd be a pity of we didn;t ge tot see it in the states.

I'd hate him if he didn't create all of the characters in the first place. :(

Although I'm iffy on Fred. I don't think he had much of a hand in creating a lot of the Angel supporting cast.

Fred was the only good thing to come out of the Pylea arc.:o

Yeah, Wesley got some great development. For a while I wished they could've had a meeting between Giles and Wes in season 5 of Angel, since they both experienced similar transformation, and they both lost women they cared about. C'est la morte.:(

Wesley's first foray into hardened badass mode was nice, too.

How awesome of a combination was Wesley and Faith in season 4? The highlights of Season 4 was definitely Wes. When he raided Wolfram & Hart to save Lilah, that was pure badass.

Yes, Wes and Faith would make a good buddy cop duo. :) I liked how Wes specifically went to her because she'd stop Angel without killing him. Intellectual use of resources is fun.

I basically orgasm when I see the bust-Faith-out-of-jail-scene. It's my favourite scene of the fourth season, besides Wesley pwning Gunn after kissing Fred. Wesley made season four for me.

I think it's telling that Faith was written better on Angel, than she was on Buffy.:o

"I got mad skills"

I agree he does that a lot...but he also has a way of bringing the chartacters back which I also dislike as I think a dead character should stay dead otherwise it looses value.

I think his deaths at first were great...but it seems to be done for shock value.

What do you mean - for shock value? Boy, I'd hate to see that soundbite get bandied out a little carelessly...

If it was shock value where it didn't advance the storyline, character development, even thematic narrative, or completes/defines the history, personality, attributes etc of that character kicking the bucket and makes a lasting impression, then it was shock value.

But I never saw any of these deaths to be shock value. What the hell?

Just you know - Buffy was dead and brought back, and while perhaps people thought it should have ended at Season 5, there is alas the much-lauded Season 8 to refer to as far as the character of Buffy is concerned, based on who she is and the mythology as well as characters and etc that has been created around her, in spite or because of it, even.

The value is only lost if a character is brought back for seemingly no reason other than pure shock value, and by that, I mean long-lasting impact. Short term won't fly, however, that I can give you.

Eliza Dushku was heard to say that once, in another context, and Joss Whedon liked that, so befitted that same line to her character.

Faith had two different templates to work from on two very different shows, and she suited them both for different reasons, which is an even more of a testament to not only the strength and endearance and flexibility of the character, but that also of writing on, again, two very different shows.
