New Layout Feedback

It's crazy I've been coming to these forums for nearly, 20 years & I can't honestly tell you what colour the background or surrounding areas are/were previously, however this new layout seems insanely white & bright. Almost to the point that it's giving me a headache after only a few minutes. It reminds me a lot of how YouTube looks without the dark theme.

I'm also still getting these ridiculously intrusive cookie/advert requests that pop up on every single page without fail on these forums. Even after I've customised & saved my preferences, it still pops up. It's one of the reasons I never browse the forums on my phone anymore if I'm out, it's ridiculously annoying to put it mildly.



There's no other website I visit that's like this. Usually you're asked once & unless you delete your history, cache or cookies it will not ask again, certainly not every single time you visit the page.

Outside of the brightness & those annoying cookie/data requests on every page, it seems fine so far.

Seeing the stats of the members in mobile (horizontal mode) without clicking their profile pic is so retro. In horizontal mobile mode, the stats take up a huge space (like 25%) in my screen and the profile pics are bigger. In vertical mode, the stats don't instantly show up and the profile pics are 25% smaller.

I also think the border/gradient make the theme look a bit dated, as most web designs now are minimalistic.

Also the red background of "who liked this post" is not good in the eyes especially with the black teXt.

improved the alert colors (still working on them but htis is what we get at 12:45 am)

I'm probably done for tonight. Keep bringing up anything you can think of but color issues are #1 priority (can't see things, etc)

The reaction section of each post would look better if the text was white

Personally, I think the link to images should be first because most people link images rather than upload them.

Another color issue is the profile names text (I think it can be fixed if we had more options for text color because of the banners)

The colors in the reaction popup page headers probably need to be fixed.

Animated avatars should be fixed (well mine is working anyway)
The image processor was set incorrectly (always is after version upgrades)

You may need to re-upload, lemme know if problems persist.

Oof, gradient effects in 2023...

My main UI/UX issue, besides the lack of a dark theme again, is how forum sections with new messages are barely noticeable versus sections with no new messages. The empty text balloon icon doesn't cut it...

I'll post what could be improved regarding that later today.

I'm sure there's one person who somehow still uses AIM, ICQ, and Yahoo Messenger in 2023, but this needs some updating. (IE Instagram, Discord, Twitch, ect, ect)

You too, huh? I thought that was just me. The only way I've managed to resolve it, so far, is to just enable the option that says, "Store and/or access information on a device", which I don't wanna do. I don't wanna enable any of those cookie options, but, apparently, I have to enable at least that one just to stop that ****ing pop-up. And even with that option enabled, I still got the pop-up again at one point last night.

Yeah also I think the threads that are bolded to indicate there are new messages should have a different color so it can stand out more.

Something minimalistic like that would be great. That forum also uses XenForo. But with SHH red and blue colors.

That being said, I will get used to this layout easily.

Those lines inbetween threads are not a good look. The background color (PlayStation / Horizon) doesn't mesh well with the new theme. I don't recall having any visual criticism about the previous layout and I liked how modern it was and the italics for the text were kinda cool.

Yeah I don't think these have been changed since the Spider-Man Hype days. Part of me wants them to try and bring AIM back as a FB Messenger alternative. Yes, I'm crazy.

I can't scroll, not with the mouse wheel nor anything on the keyboard. I can scroll in the split second while it's loading though.

Wish I could collapse everything on the right, like before, that stuff is useless to me.

yes I notice that it is working now, but it looks kinda blurry like it has been enlarged without the resolution intact. also, when you look at it, is his face getting cut off during the animation? because that is what is happening to me
