New Layout Feedback

I am in dark node on my computer...honestly I might like normal better o_O:oops:

I like the white better than the clutter it was before. But the dark font on red is hard to see
The 1.5 theme imo was never good. It was indeed very cluttered and had diagonal lines for some stupid reason. This one needs work and is a little more bare bones but imo it's a better base to work off of.

I think everything is currently a bit TOO grey now but we'll work on that later.

Thoughts on posts alternating colors (like different shades of grey/off white) so you can more easily tell the difference between post 1,2,3,4 in a thread?

Or are the borders enough?

Could you remove the gradient in the border of the posts? The gradients just look very 2000s to me.

I think some color (maybe dark red or dark blue) to the links would be fine. Not sure about alternating colors.

I also think the opacity of the borders, could be lessen to 50%. If there's an option to reduce the opacity of the borders/lines.

Okay I see the editing/post link buttons (report, edit, delete, quote, reply, attach files) are now red.

Also if the background color of replies to the profile page's comments could be changed to white as well, and the text (my reply in that piX) to black.XRecorder_20092023_151928.jpg

I think the gradients are fine if they serve as a border like this:

That is now back to black.

tbh the gradients are probably a later problem. I hate changing color settings in XF so much. You change one thing and 30 other things you didn't want to change, change.

I mean.....we are on an internet message board it doesn't get more 2000's. Break out the Mountain Dew code red, listen to some Nu-Metal and enjoy the ride

I'm done for the night. Lemme know thoughts on the changes everyone in the morning.

It's looking better but I think the border line between the signature and the post needs some space. And the signatures have been acting weird, sometimes it appears and sometimes it doesn't.

Your signature will only appear once per page to save space.

The black border and drop shadows give an unnecessarily busy look. Removing the drop shadows and giving the border a dark gray color seem easier on the eyes:

Alternatively, keep the drop shadows but remove the border. It'll give a floating effect similar to the cards from the Google Material design: Cards – Material Design 3

I'm noticing that threads with new posts are no longer bolded, can't tell if a thread has been read or not.
I noticed that too. I'm assuming it's temporary.

I get that there are still kinks to be worked out but I'm okay with the changes so far except I really do miss the embedded YouTube and Twitter links.

It's barely noticeable, but red bubble icon = no new replies; black = new replies.

About the alerts page/menu, is there a way to change the read/unread dot color from black to red or blue?
