New Layout Feedback

I see the B, I, tT, 3 dots, paragraph icon(won't let me open it) smilies, insert image and another 3 dots
Do you see undo and three more dots? If you click the three dots, the "[ ]" should be there.

Once you click the [ ] the grayed out smilie should get dark and wake up.

I don't see it mentioned but the ability to hide forums we don't visit would be nice unless I'm missing it somewhere.

Yeah I don't see an option for this at all anymore. I'm not sure if it's something the higher-ups can bring back or not.

Search is working for me now.

My go-to search test is “Battle Angel.” This thread definitely exists (under Misc. Movies, prefix: sci-fi). But if you search for it — with the search titles only box clicked — you get nada. True, you can improvise by unclicking the search titles only box. This kinda works. It’ll bring up a long list of messages. And some are actually from the Battle Angel thread. :o But IMO, this is a clunky way to get the search function to find stuff.

Yeah, the search still feels broken. I tested searching for "Avatar" in the movie forum. For some reason the search finds the thread for Avatar 3 but not the one for Avatar : The Way of Water for example. Or the thread for the original Avatar.

Someone else can confirm that the ignore thread option is no longer available ?

You know, I kind of miss the feature where all the extra large images get auto-resized smaller but you can also view it in full with a click.

I don't use the "watched threads" and other options like that because I like browsing the whole forum, but it's really hard to see if there's a new thing to read with the bubbles system: the colors are barely legible...

Am I the only one annoyed by this? Couldn't the bold text system be used everywhere, right from the home page?

Fixed the avatar size issues (I think) so they shouldn't be blury anymore. if your avi was uploaded in a low quality to begin with though that can't be helped.
I'm probably one of the few who get your "CLI" comment and wish everything started with en, conf t, router BGP (ASN)/OSPF/EIGRP, etc. Show ip route is also a go to in enable mode.

Anyway, I think you've worked things out pretty well. Implementation without a lab (I'm assuming SSH doesn't have a dedicated lab) is just asking for problems, but as long as they're visual and not functional, it's okay. It's not like this is a hospital environment where cranky people like me are going to get the wrong infusion.

That being said, I think the one thing I'd change is the color of the new alerts. For people who have spent too much time hunched, and squinting, over a screen, the difference between the grey and white isn't a whole lot. Perhaps some flair with a light pinkish or yellow tone would be nice.

Just a thought.....

Oh......I love CLI, but way back when, I loved menu driven. Make sure you stay up on more policy driven interfaces, but you probably already knew that.

So... do you like it or not?

So... as you well know, I am a very complicated person and this is not an easy question to answer. I remember once when I was surprised by what seemed to be a simple solution... except it wasn't. Then there was the time when I didn't like it when the pressure of the water fountain went down when someone flushed the toilet (they, obviously, had water fountains back in those days and bottled water wasn't a thing) and, when I said losing water pressure in the water fountain bothered me, someone said "Well, would you prefer that the water pressure went up?" Y'know, I thought about that for awhile and decided that I didn't want yellow or pink water. Flair has its place I suppose.

So... what was your question?

The question was if you are for or against the bidet.

My own opinion is that I didn't like the new layout at first, but then I forgot what the old layout looked like and now I don't even care one way or the other.
This is me, though the pages still load slowly for me. :(

The Stephen King thread in the books and music forum seems to have disappeared
