Am i going crazy or have the forums been flipped?

Heroes at the top?
All this Oscar and forum maintenance stress must be getting to you.

Boy I love it when 21 years of muscle memory is just undone in a snap for no reason.
Yeah......At least to me, it makes more sense to have the Community Forums where they were as it's more of an overarching grouping. I get it's called SHH, but burying the Community stuff seems like kind of a stupid thing to do. I wonder if enough people thought it was lame, if it would make any difference or if this is just how it's going to be because someone said so.......

20 years ago it would have made sense for the Hero forums to be first, but at this point the community forums are the most active on the site. So I feel they should be on top but that's just me. I don't work here, I just loiter lol.

The thinking was that this is first and foremost a Hero board, not a Community board. In keeping with the theme, the administrators felt it was more logical to put the Community forums last, not first. :)

I agree with @Venom 1988 & @InCali that the community forum should be at the top. If it ain't broke, no need to fix it!

We are a superhero board, but we are also literally an online community. So having the community forum at the top was also a good, conscious reminder of that.

Of course, we are just members here and if the administration feels that this is better, I guess we will have to get used to it

I didn't know they were the most active, but if that's true, I think it's an even better reason to have it at the top. Ultimately, this site should do what is best for the members. Burying the Community Forums at the bottom, makes no sense to me. I'd be interested in the official reason for doing so as it seems like we're all speculating.

I'm not going to freak out, but it would be interesting to see a poll of who likes it one way or the other.

It's not a democracy dammit!!!! :funny:

I mean, I don't look at the numbers or anything but I assume they are. If you look at the hero boards, most don't have a lot going on or if they do have activty, the the posts are sporadic. Take something like Thunderbolts. Most of the time when someone posts on there it's because a random news item dropped but there's not that much discussion. Obviously when the movie get's closer to release, that will change. Granted this is not the case for all the boards, the Superman and Batman ones have a lot of activity. Heck the Superman logo getting revealed dropped got that board super busy lol.

I use the Watched Threads link to navigate so moving Community to the bottom doesn't really affect me much.

Going slightly off topic but I feel the individual hero/character boards are outdated. I think it's fair to say that 20 years ago, when this site had a lot of traffic and users, it made sense to divvy up the boards like that. When I first joined this site (and for several years after) I only kept to specific hero boards like Spider-Man and Batman. Each board had an off topic thread, that people could just talk about whatever. That alone was enough to keep me occuipied on the hype for years, without stepping foot into other boards. But today, when we have less users and less conversations going on, I realized to continue to engage with more people, I've had to branch out to a lot more areas. Like theres more activity going on about Marvel movie news in the Misc Comic Forum than the actual Marvel Films board and the respective Hero boards combined.

So...that's why I think a better way to get streamline engament is to merge all the Hero film boards to their respective Marvel and DC film boards. On the DC Films board, you have one dedicated Superman thread, one The Batman Part 2 thread etc... Same with the Marvel Film board, you have one dedicated Deadpool 3 thread, one Avengers 5 thread, etc... Obviously there can still be other random threads on these boards, like a general MCU/DCU thread, how do you rank the xyz movies or a spoiler thread for a specific movie when it comes outBut I guess I just don't really see the point of having a board with a bunch of adjacent threads, like having a thread for every major character in the cast. Any conversations going on there, I feel can easily happen in the main movie thread and sometimes I see users literally repeating posts as a result.

Anyway getting off my soapbox now as I didn't mean for this post to be so long lol. Obviously others can feel free to disagree and I can definitely see this not being a popular opinion. So I'm just gonna brace myself :oldrazz:

I just saw your join date and you really have been here for nearly 20 years champ! I have been for about 12 years, and I kinda feel the same way. there unfortunately isn't enough traffic in some of the superhero forum categories and I think merging some of them might be best for organizing and navigating. of course, some of the forums are more active than others, so I think there could be discussions to be had about this if the staff is willing :)

If I had been smart enough to make an account sooner, I would have originally joined the site back when it was just called Spider-Man Hype. But for whatever reason I just lurked until Spider-Man 2 was coming out.

I don't remember what drew me exactly to this forum, but in 2012 I wanted a place to discuss DKR with other people online because I was just obsessed with the movie back then. hence my username

Rebutted with respect, of course.IMG_3854.jpeg

I was asking if you disagreed with my post. I thought so based on your reaction to it
I honestly don't remember but right now I'm shrooming Grant Morrison style so who knows :sly::ikyn:woo:

Just don't go all Jim on us.

I really would like to know what the logic is for the change though....like the real reason.

I think that's a very good idea. What if we did this? Just create a thread asking if the new layout is better or worse than the original. Would we have the chance to change it back?
