Not really. There are significant differences in their looks. LoS still resembled ninjas. The Foot look more like swat/military with face masks on.

According to a recent interview with Michael Bay, the cg models, or at least the designs, of the turtles are done.

I don't base my view on just one token aspect. To me they have too much present that's more associated with military than they are with ninjas. There's very little that I can see that can be said to be associated with ninjas.

In BB the LoS didn't have much of anything that really resembled anything especially associated with military. Their body armour was substantially different to typical tactical vests and their goggles/helmets weren't typical military either and they still largely resembled their more old school ninja looks from the beginning of the film.

Nah. The change inclusion of Vern as well as the change from April working for CBS to Channel 6 like the 87 cartoon shows ALOT has changed.

The set photos show that they did keep the look and concept of the updated foot, but thats it.

It's purely a cosmetic similarity.

True. It really is too early to say if its purely cosmetic, but its also too early to say if its not.

I hope your right mate, but the changes you mentions are superficial at best and not really huge factors in the plot.

The whole thing especially the chains and soldiers screams military prisoners. And with past bay productions leaked scripts rarely lie

I'm actually getting pretty excited about this movie.
I never jumped on the Michael Bay hate bandwagon like alot of people seem to have done.
The transformers movies weren't the greatest movies ever made,But I don't hate them.
I guess I just wasn't expecting a whole lot from summer movies about giant robots that turn into cars.

Yeah. I'm just hoping it is vastly different from top to bottom. Like I said earlier though, if Shredder and the Foot are actual military then I'll be giving this film a pass sadly.

Yeah but you have to consider that they shut down production and devoted the extra time to A) Cg work and B) fixing the script with a huge rewrite by the Snow White and the Huntsman scribe, whose changes are evident in some of the set photos.

At the very least, The terrible human subplot is gone and April's (and if he's present, Casey's) backstory redone. Also, the most significant change is the Turtles not being "aliens" from Dimension X.

If one is worried about Shredder being an alien still, chances of that have been decreased significantly because it was largely dependent upon the turtles being from Dimension X.

Most of the story depended upon them being aliens. That alone being eliminated makes it a very different story.

Basically if the turtles look decent enough from a photorealistic fantasy standpoint I'll be giving it a chance, that is where my interest lies right now....how they're portrayed.

If I could suffer through Battle L.A in theaters, I can see myself getting bored enough to consider seeing a Ninja Turtles movie. It really depends on my mood.

He’s not playing a turtle in Paramount’s reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles but William Fichtner is on board for the movie. Details on the actor’s role are sketchy but Fichtner is said to be playing a lead with iconic stature in the Turtles’ mythology.

I'm hoping he's somebody like Bishop or something. I really am. As good as he is, especially from what I've seen in Lone Ranger trailers, Shredder has to be Japanese.
