Well, I remember reading a quote from long ago that the martial arts action in this film would be very The Raid-esque, so there's that. t:

It infuses the character.
He's clearly aping the something he saw/read in a samurai book. I'd imagine he's the type of teen that watched one to many kurosawa films or maybe it has something to do with how spinter dresses. The point is, this isn't a matter of why batman decides to wear a cape or why spidey has rubber soles on his feet in ASM. This is almost 100% characterization work seeing as they are choosing what they want to wear and obviously need none of it.

That's totally what I'm getting from the designs. They're still recognizable as the characters we all know and love, but they each have their own certain flairs to them that individualize and distinguish them from each other.

Unless people actually think Leo thinks those straw pieces will protect him from anything, knives, bullets?
I most like how different they all choose to dress. If they had put mike in this leo get up it would be kinda pointless but there are some good choices here.

Seeing these maquettes and designs really make me happy that they chose to evolve these characters in their designs. Were the changes necessary? No, but I am very glad they were made.

Its almost hard to believe that there is this much positivity for such a pretty serious redesign of the turtles. I'm glad to see that some people are open to change.
Seems like the last time I saw this much happiness over a costume was for the new Amazing spider-man 2 suit.

It's like I said when people were discussing the Halloween costume: Clothes make sense given how evolved the turtles are. It's stroke genius that further illiterates each turtle's personality.

I think he should upgrade when he has the chance. There's no reason to stick to your make-shift stuff, when you can get proper gear. If not through April, another way to acquire it, would be by going through Shredder's trophy cases, if they attack him at his headquarters.

Now that we actually have the Turtles wearing clothes, I'd be shocked if they never change into something different or new. With wearing clothes, comes also the occasional wardrobe change. I'm ok with them wearing the getup they have now for the majority of the movie. But by the end of the first, or with a sequel, I expect something new.

For the sake of Toy Sales alone, there will be out fit changes along the way. I just wonder how stinky their hoodies and what not are given where they live.

I hope they never stop with the makeshift attire. Its has alot more character imo. More importantly, it's the difference between peter parker making an outfit and bruce wayne buying one from lucius fox. Never understood why hollywood always insists on professional looking suits inside of their narratives.

Much potential for some great action scenes with it,vehicles chases!!

Yeah I think this movie has more potential than people were initially wiling to give it. I'm ready to see this bad boy

Question about the Turtle van. Did they customize and rebuild it themselves, or did they just happen to find/steal a van that has a Turtle decal? Because if it's custom build, it's kinda weird to think they can't find a proper couch, or decent clothes, but their van looks completely mint.

i think they wanted a dirty home for them in the sewers. the van looks clean because Bay is the producers and he likes clean cars.
