Ultimate cut could flesh out Luthor? Eisenberg seems to suggest his Luthor was victim of "retroactive editing".

Only problem being that he really has no idea or not if that's the case, since he hasn't the seen the movie. To me I felt like Lex was fully formed, so I'd be interested to see if there is more on his character(aside from the already released deleted scene with Darkseid/Darkseid minions)

Can someone explain that to me? He just shows up at the premieres but then goes home?

lol great point.

I'm not sure if there are any Luthor deleted scenes I have an idea on what most of the deleted material is though I'm not completely certain, most of it seems to be Superman related stuff. Are there any other Lex related scenes anyone has discovered?

I actually hope we don't get any more Lex in the UC, for me he already had too much time dedicated to him in the TC. He was one of my least favourite aspects so I hope most if not all of the re-added scenes don't involve him.

I still don't at all get the point of wearing a trench coat over the massive rubber suit... but dammit if it doesn't look awesome.

It probably helps with the sun. Even though it's another layer.

That scene with him and Senator Finch, and then him and the Senator that grants him access to the ship and Zod were awesome. They showed Lex at his core.

The only scene that didn't work for him was the party scene where he starts getting flustered during his speech. I think if they had just settled that a bit and had Lex speaking more in terms of references to power and privilege it would swing most people on to his interpretation.

Idk, I kinda liked the scene with his speech. Made him a little more frightening to me, more manic and unstable.

I suppose I am content with the Luthor portrayal, meaning that I can accept it and move on. I didn't think it was bad, exactly, or it ruined the movie. Saying that, I didn't think it lived up to the potential of Lex Luthor in this Universe. His character could have and should have been much better, I think. I agree with those who say that the entire character, Eisenberg, the portrayal and the mannerisms, would have been better suited for The Riddler

Ive only seen it once, so there's a couple things I didn't pick up on the first time, in regards to the plot.

What was the deal with Superman dragging that huge ship? Was it sinking, and he saved it by pulling it up on land? Wasn't he pulling it across the land, why would he keep pulling it after he had bought it ashore?

It looked like it capsized in the ice as it was on its side. Maybe he rescued the people first or maybe they just needed help moving it.

I think it's just Kal's way of pulling the tyre.

It might've been leaking oil. Superman was probably bringing it to some other place that's more equipped to contain the vessel, also to retrieve belongings from inside the ship.

this. I felt it completely necessary, for the reasons you've listed.
I loved Eisenberg as Lex. That being said, I have zero attachment/knowledge to the character in the comics, so I'm judging him based on a movie fan than a comic book fan.

Or it just stuck in ice.

The only bit of explanation the film requires regarding Lex - how he planned to control Doomsday... The rest is perfectly fine.

I think the fact he used his own blood seemed to make him think a form of control was possible.

Possibly, along with some weirdo form of "I want to create and see myself in a God" psychosis/egomania.

Agreed, as it certainly seemed to shock him when Doomsday went for him, before that he was standing there quite cocky marvelling at his creation.

I am mixed on the portrayal personally but just in terms of the UC I don't want any more Lex scenes added. I think he had more than enough scenes in the TC so would prefer the extended footage to all be Superman or Batman or even Doomsday related. Just my personal preference.

And it will. I think, it will be mostly Lois and Clark related.

For all we know, the Kryptonian tech could've told him this was possible. We're missing whole hour blocks of him interacting with the system.

Was that his plan?

He wanted to destroy the "all good" by making Superman kill Batman.

Then he wanted to destroy the "all powerful" by making DD kill Superman.

I think at that stage he was obsessed enough to not think of anything else.
